1st post updated with "Needed" list. Volunteer your services, as well as suggest more things we will need, and i will update the first post with the people involved in each section.

We'll keep the list small for now, and get the basics done, then if we get the coding support we can expand once we have a basic version running.

i'm loving this idea, "i wish it had PR's gameplay" is always the first thing i think when i see other zombie mods (even other games for that matter). i have no skills to offer except a little bit of tweaking, but i'd like to offer a couple suggestions regarding the zombies:

1. Zombies shouldnt get tired from running.

2. Zombies feel no pain and shouldnt get the wounded effects from bleeding and all that.

3. If its possible, Zombies should spawn instantly so there are always more of them about.

another idea i had was that it should play more like the movies if the knife damage for zombies was turned down because in a one on one fight zombies never do a one-hit-kill and tend to only kill characters fast with a feasting frenzy. turning down the damage on the zombie knife could give you a infected type effect and all your friends will have to put you down if you suddenly start coughing or something because it means your going to be 'team swapped' without dying. but it's probably not possible for that to happen so i guess its best to keep the deadly one-hit-kill knife. hmm how about every time a uninfected player dies by a zombie, they automatically drop a one time only temporary spawn point where they died, allowing them to menace their unsuspecting former mates.

just some ideas.

And the moon is hidden by dark clouds and streetlights don't work since electricity was shut down, to prevent further infestation. Call the map "pitch black" and you're good to go! :D

An evening map should be good though, with dark scary lights and all ;) .

This would seriously be teh_awsome. Im sorry, it really just would be.

After playing Death by Binary's zombie mod, aswell has tailoring organised PR 'zombie scrims' at the PRT, this would truely be imensely fun.

Who knows, after some community mods are finished, we'll have a lot more folks who are able to do this jazz.

Ok here my sugestions:

2 classes of zombies

Runner = almost infinite stamina but very easy to kill(killable like every soldier on pr with 2-3 shots)
Shambler = Regular soldiers stamina, but unless you headshot him you will have to spend 15-20 shots on the body to put him down)


No respawn time for them and very little to none falling damage, also a slown way to regenerate life while standing still would be nice (something like the med kit but without the model).

There should be no vehicles(or at least no armored vehicles), and the maps could have "CP's like places where the army need to secure. and the zombies would spawn on fixed positions and would have to get to the cp's and avoid it being captured.

The cp's would have to be only capturable by the team 2(Blue force) that way the zombies could only defend the position, it would work like the army is cleainig that location and not a fight for 1 cp.

Zombies should have instant respawn and 9999 tickets, they would only lose if the blue force takes all the cp's.
The cp's should be random so each round will be diferent.
If a player get's killed by a zombie, he should have something like 3 to 5 minutes respawn time

zombie wouldn't get any weapon, well he would, but it wouldn't have any model, and the animations would be set to have the hands up to grab and then the "fire" will be you grabbing the victim or w/e and would act like the knife :D

My suggestions:

- Zombies get automatically revived after 20 seconds in the location where they were unless they are killed so they will have to respawn.
- Zombies get cured if stabbed with the medic needle. Passing to the soldiers team.
- Zombies have double the health percentage so that they have to be shot alot more to be stopped.

- Soldiers pass to the zombies team when killed with the knife.
- Soldiers can still be revived by medics.

But what about the holding out against rampaging hordes of mindless ex-humans scenario?

I think that's a pretty good idea.

I too say no to vehicles, since the zombies are limited top melee and such, the human team could just run away endlessly.

I'd also like to raise the issue of water. If the humans get in deep water, zombies, limited to melee, are unable to do anything to them. Possible solutions: remove water and say the zombies eated it, make water infected and only let zombies able to swim in it without dyeing OR make knives work in water.

My old map cold dawn could be used for this since the map is discontinued for pr, if you want to modify it for the zombie i can pm it to you.(but you cant use the PR statics unless it is a minimod for pr)

For water, I'd let it stay in the map, but make it just so deep that you can still walk in it. Even if some army guy hides in it, he'll run out of ammo at some point.

Cold Dawn could be awesome for this, really really awesome, as long as the water problem is fixed. Though, you could also give the zombies rocks, just for the lulz :p

(Why the hell wont Cold Dawn appear in PR? The "beta" version of it was amazing!)

There is a problem: You could only do this, if you could finish the downed zombies off with a headshot, otherwise it is quite unfair.

I also agree with removing any vehicles and the bleeding for zombies, and a self-regeneration for them.

Something that'd be cool would be some shader effect for the zombies, similiar to the flashbang-effect, but weaker, making them able to see better in the dark than humans. You could also add some kind of tunnel effect for them, i love how that looks while playing.

im so glad to see it taking off! it sounds like you've done alot already Jonny, nice work. but whats your thinking with the limited firearms for zombies? is it to make more variety for the zombie team? also is it possible to have no pain effects/bleeding for zombies? im liking the idea of a slow regeneration for zombies or a sudden regen from killing someone.
