In the PRT tournament the discussion has been going on with regards to Hitfixer and it's use with PR.
Considering that it corrects the default connection setting of BF2 could the PR dev's incorporate the ping correction into PR so that everyone's connection would be running at their correct connection speeds.
This has nothing to do with Deviation that is completely different subject.

Re: HItfixer / PR
That's not how it work i think, it would do no good if the DEVs altered the default settings.
The ping correction need to adjusted by the individual, according to ping he has to the server he's gonna play.
Default is 100. When i play euro, i get ~50. When i play N/A i get ~150. I play them about 50/50. My average ping is 100.
Perfect.
But go ahead and fix them yourself, it's recommended.

Re: HItfixer / PR
When you play at 50 your settings should be set for 50, when at 150 then set to 150. Just Averaging out don't cut it really.
Just read they working on something so this is defuncked.

Yeah i know, that 'perfect' didnt really mean perfect. TBH i didn't even know there was a 3rd party program who could change these settings, but it doesn't bother me that much that i'd exit the game and change the setting each time i changed servers. Wich i tend to do often..
The deviation as infantery now sort of make ping more irrelevant to me, as the bullet's don't neccessarily go exactly where i point my gun anyway but more in a 'general direction' of a moving target (where hitboxes matters more is concerning anti-tank rockets, hate when they go 'through' your long-distance target!).
Point was i don't think this is for DEVs to handle, unless they find some mysterious way to implement it into PR and adjust it to each individual server you join.

Never mind me, i don't know what i'm talking about.
But i see it's a really controversial matter in PRT...

If there was a sort of server script that zeroes your ping that would be great
But i dont know if scripts have the power to alter your usersettings...

That's what's the Hitfixer for.
You input your ping, it adjusts some settings.
Before I get jumped by the "OMGHACKZ!!!" mob these settings are simple console commands that you might as well input manually.
All this thing does are the calculations and later pastes them in the console for you.

Well, those of on the PRT forums have been given our marching orders on the subject. But I'm glad that the PR team is looking in to this
som1 mentioned that FH2 had already done something similar?

They pretty much made a user program the same as hitfixer, so in essence, its exactly the same, but will just be made by FH2 Dev's rather than some other guy.

I know thats what the hit fixer does i just meant like a automatic script that calculates and inputs this every second or 2.

Re: HItfixer / PR
As said elsewhere - (there's already a thread about this in General Discussion, and Smee as you found out about this from the PRT you should have read my post there) - this is something I've suggested to the rest of the team already; that we look at implementing into PR. It may not be possible, or may not provide any benefits over Hitfixer. In short, sit tight and watch this space.
