98% of things are insanely amazingly well done. Bravo.
Things that arnt so great - Time it takes to scope Acog - Stamina system - New deviation system is "ok"
Cant wait to see whats next for PR.

Exactly as great as I thought it would be! But I didn't play any other versions, either... 0.8 is my first one
But as people always comment, some things could have been better, like the stamina and, of course, the top-issue in my perspective: you'll get a mere 2 meter high jump and you'll bleed to death.

Terribly disappointed by the current deviation. Makes shooting someone something of a lottery and removes a lot of the "reality" and skill from Project Reality.
Praying for adjustments in the next version.

Shot a player from distance after about seven shots and I don’t know if it was skill at all or this D System
So lets get this right they have slowed our running, gave artificial deviation to our shots. Its like killing the game to balance things out. Let us run and give us our skill back and we will take care of the rest.
I also understand about the stamina, the maps are to huge for this system now…I cant cross a street on Mutta 2.
I don’t like things that are artificial to give the other player a better chance to survive or kill me or extend a one to one fight.. May as well bring in armoured ice cream vans as it’s a lot of fun.

Have to agree on the aiming system issue. Today I was at Muttrah... my squad died, we lost our rally and I was alone against a full enemy squad. I killed one of them and started firing at them at the other side of the street. It took forever for me to die, since they wouldn't hit me. I ended up being killed by an APC that came for me after some 30 seconds of shootout and ugly misses.

Awesomely done! The maps are incredible, works of art really, as is the whole mod.
I like everything immensely but the following:
Stamina should rebuild quicker after running. (I didn't like the shorter sprinting at first but I could like it if your stamina rebuilds somewhat quicker).
The blood effect is too much right now. I like what you are attempting to do with it overall, but think it should be a combination of using the new blood effect starting at 50% health,(instead of the blood effect starting at 75% health as it does now), and using the black and white effect from the last version .756, when you reach 20% health until death.
Rifle Scope to Eye should be a little faster, it just seems too slow, slower than real life.
Other than that this mod is totally tits! Far better than most retail games. Thanks for all the hard work!

I agree with Sanke.
They improved a few things while making the whole thing generally worse.
I freaking hate .8, it's really hard to get myself to play now.
-The sprinting is bs,
-3D/Iron sights are horrible and useless, totally unrealistic. It's like aiming with a black horizontal bar. Weapon models are too thin when iron sighting.
-The longer draw times are bearable, but I'd rather do without them. The initial short times to draw a new weapon/item are supposed to compensate for the time it takes to scroll to the weapon and then select it, as opposed to instantly thinking of switching and doing it, which would happen in RL.
-Increased kit limiting is dumb, just makes being ill-equipped and helpless in many situations occur way more often.
-Increased spawn times aren't discouraging people from doing anything(such as being too Rambo), it just makes dieing legitly a more annoying process.
-Longer reload animation is dumb, a lot of them show useless parts of reloading operation, and the general speed is as if they're taking a stroll in the park, taking up their casual time. For example the M4/M16 anims, if you're going for realism, why doesn't the animation show a quick flipping of the rifle to the left to check the chamber, something they're actually formally TRAINED to do, unlike tapping the mag on the helmet. Pressing the bolt release and THEN pushing the forward assist is somewhat redundant, but still isn't necessary. 7.5 seconds? Please.
Ugh, I miss .756.
There's like one or two more things, but mostly everything else I like.
I'm just ranting, I doubt anything I say will be taken into consideration, but I've still stopped trying to invite my friends to PR for a reason.

Is there a problem with 0.8 or is no one playing it……….went on last night seven servers…………..put the search to all versions and it filled up with servers on the previous release.

Re: Was v0.8 better then you thought?
Well, I have a lot to say and doubt anyone's listening or cares, but I have to say it anyway....Start rant now...
I believe it's worse than before but they did fix some things...very minor things at that. However, I actually can only think of a few things that are better. Far worse than better.
1)Slowed down weapon changes. It takes longer to grenade and switch weapons. Not a bad idea, but hardly a problem in past versions IMO. I especially like the more difficult to use Lite-AT kit.
2)Building allowed W/O a Commander.
3)The Wounded/Give-Up/Death is improved IMO.
4)Suppresion doesn't occur on oneself now. A huge happyface for this one.
5)Manual Reload...this is realistic and I approve of it.
Things I hate now. Most of these fall under the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" motto.
1)Weapon dispersion, It's just really out there now. I feel like they've takin skill and threw it out the window. I feel like I'm rolling dice evertime I pull the trigger, and I'm not a lucky guy. Even Aiming at a stationary target for over 2 seconds doesn't make it much better. The worst is at point blank range. It is really hard to shoot people within 10ft., even with fully automatic fire. This IMO, is THE WORST CHANGE so far.
2)Sprinting, I can't run. OK, I don't mind I can't run for long distances as much as I HATE how slow you recharge your energy. How many times have you tried to run out of harms way, say to a tree for cover under fire, and you just can't muster up the energy or adrenaline to go faster than walking? This is just terrible and VERY unrealistic IMO. Simple fix would be to make the stamina meter recharge much much faster.
3)Limited Kits. I understand why they did this, but I think it's made a bigger problem. The Medics are EVERYWHERE! There's a hugely unrealistic amount of medics now, because there's really only the rifleman and engy kits left. Well, both were made worse in this version, so the Medics is really the best kit to spawn with. I've been in squads that have 4 Medics many times already!
4)Limited amount/effectiveness of A/T, HAT and No more C-4(Engineer). Now the most basic combat vehicles rule the map. I watched the T-55 just own on Fools Road more than ever. I actually shot the T-55 from high ground 3x with the HAT kit before it died. This is a real problem, and again not realistic. Modern Military is better prepared than this.
5)The dissapearing Rally Point. This idea is ok, but 3 enemy within 50M is a bit to easy IMO. It should be much closer. I can live with this, but I again don't understand why this was messed with.
6)Ammo. It's too damn hard to get ammo. The Rifleman kit is almost useless as a resupply now. Bunkers and Firebases don't give any now...Again, why was this changed?
7)Paper Soldiers. It's far to easy to begin bleeding out. A simple fall can kill you if you can't find a medic. Koregai Vally as an Insurgent is when I notice this most. You spawn in a cave, you have to "fall" through holes to get out of some of them, and then begin bleeding to death by time you get out! WTF? They don't have medics or bandages...so you are screwed. I've also slide down hills, maybe 20' or less, and began the bleeding process. With no medic, this can be fatal. So, you can die from a couple sprained ankles? Another reason Medics are freaking EVERYWHERE! Again, I think it was fine before.
8 )The destruction of Firebase/Bunkers/ and Hideouts. Stabbing the radio...Hmm, this makes sense why? Again, the old way made C-4 and Engineers and Spec Ops important. Now? Besides, these assets are hard to build and maintain, why make them so easy to destroy? 1 guy can with ANY kit can do it if he's sneaky enough. Pretty lame and unfair IMO.
Well, I'm sure I've missed some good and Bad comments to make. I'm pretty sure I covered the most obvious to me at least. I wish I could just play .75 with the new maps and playing styles. If this EVER becomes possible, I'll be there. PR is now almost ruined IMO.

Re: Was v0.8 better then you thought?
The biggest problem I see with .8 is the deviation it's just not realistic .
.8 has completely changed my playing style and not to the realistic style of playing I was pinned by a chinese sniper 200 yards away where before i would withdrawl in fear for my life instead we start trading shots with my SL gun , not getting any hits on him I stand up , and start charging the hill like rambo, I can hear him taking shots none of them hitting me ,I make it to the hill, climb the hill switch to my knife and slit his throat. So much for the intense fire fight .
Again the reason firefights take so long in real wars is because everyone is so shit scared they dont want to die. Its not because the bullets dont hit there targets. So I would rather have the fear of a longer spawn time then this deviation nonsense. .75 imo nailed the guns perfectly .
Everything else in .8 is fine. except for the obvious points that have been already listed to many times to repeat here.
Also great jobs devs on everything else here's looking too .85 for some better accuracy.

If the Devs want to make guns more lethal, why not make the bullets do more damage? I've played other games, including FH 1 and 2 where the bullets kill in 1 shot when hitting the body or head. That'd be fine and definitely more realistic than making a soldier a fragile as an old woman with Osteoporosis.

Have to agree with these.1)Weapon dispersion, It's just really out there now. I feel like they've takin skill and threw it out the window. 1) It became pray and shoot... not nice.
2) Ok, ok, we have lots of heavy equipment being carried with us. But I can't even cross a street at Muttrah, for instance! And if I do, there's a great chance I'll find myself jumping an obstacle and losing the rest of stamina I still had... Then it's just lay down and wait some 30 minutes to regain your energy.
4) On 4, I agree only with the low effectiveness of the AT weapons. One single APC could ruin the other team, especially if they're Rebels, Insurgents, or whatever.
5) 3 enemies is too easy, yea. Maybe this number of enemies necessary to shut down a rally should be raised to 6, and/or the distance lowered to 25, 30.
7) I see several people falling from helicopters and surviving. On the other hand, I don't even press the spacebar afraid my character will have some serious bone injury due to the 5G force applied over his body.

I’m sure everything was done with cast iron reasons, but some times you need to step away and see it from our view, these things annoy, unrealistic and over engineered to try and make the game more when it’s just not needed.
God knows what the idea behind the asthmatic ant with a limp type of running especially from the point our own forces treat the idea of fitness so seriously. It’s like being an old age pensioner out there. If its to stop us capturing flags at the start like in Mutta when its obvious they want the US team to get the docks for game play.
As for shooting I thought everything was fine till this version now I don’t trust it at all…

I’m still getting kills with sniping but I cant trust any gun at close range.
Its like Pulp Fiction and John Travolta as Vincent Vega with Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield when they are in a junkies room pushing for cash that is due and some guy comes out and blasts away and misses the two of them amazingly even when it’s a small room.
That’s how its plays…..When four guys are coming down a ally or through a door you cant help but waste them….if your there ready. Last night I was above three enemy guys on a staircase, now they don’t know I’m there but I decided not to blast them and I should not even have to think that…but just blast them reassured I’m hitting them 80% of the time when thee is so little space………

Very true. The closer the range, the worse it seems! I just don't get it.sav112 wrote:I’m still getting kills with sniping but I cant trust any gun at close range.

I was firing from a crouch, semi-automatic with a stolen L-85 as a guy ran straight at me from 15' away with restrainers. I unloaded at least 6-8 rounds as fast as possible, aiming centermass. He completely filled up my screen and some how punched me and I never hit him once.
This sort of thing happens all the time to me. I've also been on the other end of it too. It's lame and I don't see the realism in that at all. I'm supposed to be using a trained soldier, not some panicked convenience store clerk.

Think it promotes the kind of rush tactic Rambo style. You know they have little chance of hitting you so why not just rush. Realistically I’d have returned fire after taking cover if I’d seen an enemy.
Thing is I tried all the guns just on the walls and that seems not too bad quite happy so is it individual players have some kind of deflection around them?
