I was thinking last night, "what differentiates the bandages from vBF2 medpacks?"
the answer came in a dreaaaam....."they aren't as good as vBF2 medpacks"
well, lets make them a bit better shall we?
how?
Make them applyable like the PR medpack, but each one runs out after a few seconds (so that only 20% health is applied like now) so your buddy will actually have to sit there for 10seconds or so to apply the bandage
then, to balance it out a little, and add some urgency to the animation, decrease the deploy time.
If my thinking is correct, people will still be able to apply bandages to themselves by looking down while standing/looking up while prone.
I think this would reflect bandages in a more realistic light, as bandages don't land on the floor then latch on to the nearest wound they sense around them.
My only worry is that this might nullify the bandages usefulness given the 75% bleed state.
Thanks for reading.

Re: bandages. apply and decrease deploy time
I think this has been suggested before, and if I recall correctly, there might be problems with giving the field dressings limited juice...

Wait... So it's 75% not 50% when you start bleeding? Explains alot now. No wonder that Pilot made me bleed with 1 shot.

really? just by having a medlike kit with limited ammo?Jonny wrote:This would turn everyone into a medic in the game's point of view, so you would all see wounded team mates and health bars. Not suach a good plan really.
the only problem non-gameplay wise I thought would be there is that perhaps the Medkit itself would be bugged
thinking about it, yea why would you have a medkit, if this was the case
I guess if teh field dressing heal time was greater than the medkit....
yea... I think i've overcomplicated it. I just don't like how you can toss a bandage on the floor- vBF2 visions.

Ont thing i've noticed since .75 re; bandages, in .75 medics had their first one available *instantly* to give casualties a quick boost after res while they got to cover. With the new animations, they don't any longer and have to wait like everyone else.

Dressings were mistakenly set to 4.3ish seconds and have been cut down in a future release.

Re: bandages. apply and decrease deploy time
Slightly off topic but not quite, I assume the idea of giving the medpack limited "ammo" has been suggested before, what's the devs take on it? I always thought that limiting the more effective medical equipment would be quite cool by making them have to "reload" their medkits every once in a while.
