Making resuscitation mandatory for revival

Post by AnRK »

Not sure if this has been mentioned in the .8 feedback forum, but I thought it'd be cool if you had to resuscitate BEFORE issuing epipen. I'm a little sceptical as to whether this is possible, because it seems like the DEV team would have made it so otherwise, but thought it was worth mentioning.

It would be even better if some wounded soldiers have to be resuscitated and others don't need that because in real life not all wounded persons stop breathing. ;-)

Yeah that'd be cool, but I imagine it'd be impossible/pretty much impossible to code. I think what I was saying is stretching it in the first place.

I think that the game considers you as unrevivable if you don't have a kit nearby, and resuscitation allows a kit to issued nearby, but it would end up always being a rifle kit. That's my understanding of how it works anyway.

That's funny. I always just did both. I never knew you could just stab them with the epipen.

I disagree with the OP, CPR is ingame to overcome a BF2 engine limitation and selective CPR (risking the epipen and no CPR) is already ingame anyway (some are stuck some arent)

CPR is not a fully realistic aspect of medical care in a combat zone, fit healthy young men do not really benefit that much from CPR as much as say, an old civilian who has had a heart attack.

Right now, they managed to turn a bug in to a feature very neatly and its fine now.

Indeed, its simply a way of giving the medic the ability to "unstick" thier patients without having to use a field dressing to do it.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Yeah I knew about the unsticking thing, which is cool, just thought it might help stop the whole run and revive thing a bit. so getting someone up would be more of a tactical decision then running over someone and stabbing them, it is pretty dangerous sometimes, but it is a pretty quick action, even given that its quite hard to know where your running when you get revived.
