This is part question, part suggestion.
The Question:
Why is it that parachutes were removed from regular infantry? Thus removing the possibility of Airborne insertion into hot zones that a low-flying chopper would be destroyed in.
The Suggestion:
If it is possible why not make parachutes only available when entering certain vehicles, such as the UH-60, USMC Huey, and their MEC/British transport counterparts.
P.S:
Another Question/Suggestion:
Why is the HIND not able to carry troops along with be an assault chopper. I know it is capable of this in real life so why not in Project Reality. (If it is not too much trouble to ask this also, why are such helicopters like the Huey, and British Transport not equipped with defensive guns.)

Re: Airborne
Been suggested so many times, please use the search function. We're trying to get away from the ub3r l337 mentality that's associated with that EA abortion.

Re: Airborne
1. Most infantrymen are not issued parachutes. Let alone the infinte reuse ones in BF2. It would also use up a weapon slot (which many classes already use).
2. Heliborne operations do not usually involve troops parachuting from helicopters. Also, adding a weapon to a kit by entering a viechle is unpossible.
3. Helis are allergic to hot LZs, stay away from them. So are paratroopers.
4. There is not currently a Hind in PR. When a faction that uses it is introduced there will be discussion as to how it should be used.
5. Resuggestion, please do search before making a "new" suggestion.
In the future there may be specific airborne maps (such as Airport in previous versions of PR) with specific Airborne troops, but until such a time the parachute will remain Pilot only equipment.
Locked.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
