It's raining ... planes!

Yesterday on Kashan I had the weirdest thing so far on PR. As I just wanted to get into combat with a tank I suddenly saw a plane fly over, similiar to the ones you see circling above in BF2 Vanilla. I checked the map where you could see it on as well (an icon I never saw before). I shot a few bullets at it, being a tank gunner, but my driver stopped me, saying 'that won't help'. Suddenly, there were planes all over the main, taking out friendlies where they crashed. I then realised the planes weren't flying, just crashing. We managed to get away, noticing it kept 'raining'. According to general chat, this was the same on the other team.

I don't think this is a bug really, perhaps a hack. Even so, I think you should now. Here's a screenshot:

yeah,i've seen that several times on .8,and so has many other players,what server were you playing on? I dont know if someone has already found out is it a bug or hack perhaps,but i have no idea why its happening.'cause first of all,UAV's are not available as a commander asset on PR since like forever..I am bit confused and i would like to know whats happening,or have i missed something?

Don't know exactly, I do know it was not one of the popular ones (MRS, 10th, etc.).
Also, this 'raining' came with heavy laggs which resulted in everybody leaving the server. I lagged out myself before being able to leave.
