If you build a firebase on the north part of the island, you then deploy a AA site, the people on the Carrier will notice that when they jump in choppers the chopper warns of a missile lock, even the though the AA site doesn't register it. In reality the AA site doesn't register the helo's until they are half way to the Island.

Had a big blow up on the HOG server with people crying about camping the carrier when in all actuality you cant lock onto the Carrier Helos until they are airborne and inbound.

Might want to back the Warning on the Helos a couple clicks.

that's not quite correct. we had cases where an AA on the north part of the island shot down a chopper on the carrier. at least i was told so. will try to reproduce that at some point.

regardless, the AA's wont give you a lock tone till the choppers are with in eye sight. But that map is very fun gotta fix the carrier issue.

Afaik your right the gunner doesnt get the tone but choppers have been taken down of the deck with hand held AA IIRC

Thats because when the AA missile is missing its previous target it will go to the next one that is the closed to them. And if that means a chopper on the deck it could be taking out.
