I've noticed that with all of the new shinies and gameplay changes things have become increasingly seriouser, sadly that can start to take the fun out of things. rather than suggest we tone down the realism, because thats why we're here right? i say we should add a little humour through the sounds as we have with the fisher price radios etc.
is anyone familiar with the Wilhelm scream? now for those of you who arent familiar with the awesomeness that is the wilhelm here's a little history lesson, in nineteen hrumfnfm.... a film was made with the character of the name mr wilhelm, during said film he gets an arrow fired into his leg at which point the scream was re-done repeatedly untill they got it right. this scream then went into achives and has been used ever since, ALOT.
Mr george lucas is responsible for alot of them but they have since poped up even in the latest kia advert. for those of you who still dont know what im on about (including me) heres a demonstration of what i mean:
YouTube - The Wilhelm Scream Compilation
Now what i sugestify is that we carry on the tradition of the wilhelm and use it for one of the "death" sounds, adding a little bit of humour but still something that wont feel out of place
feel free to flame me for the suggestion, im too tired to lift my eyes higher than the space bar atm
so discuss away my pretties!
PS: theres even a song -> YouTube - That Calls for a Wilhelm Scream!!!

Re: Wilhem anyone? again?
Isnt that exactly whats called a resuggestion? Or was the other one locked or something before the discussion was over? However:
I still disagree with it, I'd rather have the old song on the suicide vehicles if i'd have to chose a fun thing. I find the sound rather annoying. Once in a game or film is okay, but not every fifth death.

^ Trudat. Which is why this one won't be locked.
More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

As said, it'd be interesting for a fall, a lighthearted laugh at your mistake, but I don't think the engine can differentiate between death from bullets or death from heights.
It might be interesting on the Insurgent cell phones, after detonating the IEDs.
