I am of the understanding that in real life, a soldier in a war zone trys to make himself look as much like his fellow soldiers as possible on the basis that a sniper will go for anyone that looks "out of place or above their station" as they maybe an officer or have some vital importance.
Is that actually the case?
The reason I say, Is that in game, people work in squads. The squad leader can be an ideal "mobile spawn point" if he keeps his head down. However, when defending a base, you never know who is the enemy squad leader and who isn't.
I'm not saying stick a huge arrow above his head saying "hey! i'm the squad leader!" - but maybe a very very very subtle "blip" on his epilettes or collar - or maybe an armband.. something that a sniper could see and report back to the squad and say "i've got the squad leader"
This wouldn't be hugely important in public play... but in squad play, or match play, it could be quite nice....
I know this isn't "make or break" stuff for PR.. I just thought it might add a "twist" - but only if it reflected anything like real life. If not, ignore.

a roticeable sign of rank for both the commander and SLs would be nice. maybe then we could be rid of the star and number over their heads in game that gets so annoying. i actually would like it if we didnt have friendly indicators at all

Even if you did have a rank insignia, it would probably be too small to see when running anyway because the USMC have their ranks on their collars, which would give them an advantage compared to the other countries which would probably have theirs on their shoulders. Don't really see the need for this seeing as how squads have a hard enough time as it is. Just kill everyone in the area and then you will know the SL is dead.
