Basic Training

Post by djevets »

Hello, I finally got the game running and am able to play the mod now with no problem. I had ranked checked and that was the issue with finding no servers.
Now, my first drop into the action and I was clueless as to what was going on. It took me some time to figure out the EXTREME differences with this and regular BF2. This was a bit frustrating I must admit, but I enjoyed the realism of it.
Is there any way someone could set up a basic training private server or host BT on a regular basis just to help new players like myself that join and get thrown onto the action not knowing what to do? This includes mission/game types, kits, etc. More hands on then just reading a manual. Actual realtime training.
I used to run a few large clans and would love to even help set this up.
Thanks, Col.Evets

Ok Lt. I'm interested in seeing if anyone would help set this up or do it again cause it would be very helpful. Or even set up a TeamSpeak or Vent Channel for this type of request.

in the PR folder where you installed the game there is also a manual (EA/Battlefield 2/mods/pr or something)

read that a few times mate, it seriously helps a lot,

then just go on any training server and get a feel for the weapons/vehicles, join a squad and hold down T, then select some kits and try em out.... everything is much slower paced than bf2 but the weapons and vehicles do a hell of a lot more damage if u get in the way of them, more like real life

The manual (weighted like a brick) is something valuable to read, I've been playing since early 0.6 and I read the manual with every new release. Nothing helps you get better more than plain old time and experience.

Yeah Nayk, I checked out the folder and I think a real time, hands on approach would help out more.

a tip, you will get beginners help most time:
connect to a server with not too many players (10-15).
Get in a squad with voip, say you are new and if somebody could explain you the basics.
Im sure they will help you getting startet and answer the questions you have.

Im thinking of doing a page with a bunch of short videos that explain it. Who reads manuals these days. but watching videos is a different thing.

I read the manual each time PR comes out, the videos don't always do it. It explains alot, but doing it is the best way to learn.
