May I direct you to the PR SP section, where they are working their hardest to release a singleplayer version for 0.8.

actually.. to play single player you need the PR SP mod. It's a different version that they're working on you'll probably have to wait a while for its release. I do know they showed the bots using the .50 assets you can spawn, and using the bunkers and stuff as spawn points

I believe they're tying in SP with .85 so you'll have to wait a bit =/

It DOES require quite a bit of a comp to play. I know i had some issues on my dads computer with 512mb ram, as it does take up a bit more ram with the massive levels it has.

And yes. It is an amazing mod.

:D welcome to the forums

Yes, however Single Player bots are a separate mod and do not come in the Core or Level Downloads.

Yes, system requirements are higher, larger maps, more networkable objects more detailed models ect, if you were playing BF2 on medium, you can probably run PR, any lower and you're looking at major frame rate issues.

Yes, this is a very good mod, an active community, much teamwork to be had and an overall fun experience. However it is advised you read the manual before playing and do not under any circumstances try to fly any vehicle without putting a lot of time into practicing it.

Other tips, if you don't have a mic. get a mic. it's essential to gameplay in PR, you experience will improve greatly by using one.

Brozza, it's worth downloading, but you will probably still be disappointed.

PR just looks a lot better than it really is.

While yes the .8 release had many issues, they will be addressed for .85, just as .7 had many issues that were addressed in .756. The .x5 releases tend to be more polished than the main incremental ones but that's modding for you.

I would say that if you enjoy Battlefield 2, but are looking for a heavier emphasis on tactics and cooperation, then this is a good mod to try out. It has a very steep learning curve and can be unbearably frustrating at times. At it's worse, I would equate it to repeatedly trying to hunt down your corpse in World of Warcraft. At it's best it combines the excitement and action of Battlefield 2 with the immense satisfaction that comes when your patience, teamwork, and good tactics pay off. Personally, during those moments when the game reaches it's full potential, this game is as fun and rewarding as any game I've ever played in my life.

A few words of advice if you do choose to play: FIrst, as everyone will tell you, Read the manual before you play! I know no one reads manuals anymore, but without it you will be lost in the first few rounds you play. And this crowd does not tend to take well to newbies. Also, remember that this game more closely parallels Operation Flashpoint than Quake, from a gameplay standpoint. Run-and-gun play will get you killed very quickly. Finally, try to keep it simple for the first few rounds: Play a simple kit like rifleman, join a squad, and just follow them around and try to communicate well. Don't drive any vehicles. Just follow your squad leader and shoot at bad guys. When you get more used to the game you can move on to more complex kits and vehicles.

So just stay patient with the game and give it some time. And try to have fun.

If you plan on playing this mainly in single player, I'd say no, it is not really worth it. Single player is fun, and a very very good addition, but PR's main focus is and will always be multiplayer. The AI is a bit better than in BF2 sometimes, sometimes it is worse.

Anyway, if you plan to play multiplayer too and are willing to learn the game mechanics, its well worth downloading. But be adviced, reading the manual is a MUST and in the beginning you'll be annoyed by the long spawn times, kit restrictions and being killed by something you didnt even know it existed. But if you have enough patience, you'll get used to it and will probably enjoy it 100 times more than BF2 vanilla.

BF2 Vanilla is easy to learn, but once you know it there is not much new.
PR is very hard to get into, but once you understood it, it offers a lot more.

PR is very multiplayer, your online experience is dictated by how good you and your team mesh together

PRSP is always of highquality as far as BF2 goes. Its much better than vBF2 SP, but there are annoying limitations such as the bots cannot land aircraft

PR SP was never fun for me, but maybe the .7 bots were just too dumb (oh, man were they dumb...but 80 bots are pretty fun to mow down).

PR itself is a great game if you're interested in teamwork and a more realistic, rather than run-and-gun FPS. If you prefer run-and-gun, vBF2 might be more your type of thing.

The incremental patches won't add the things that make PR so visually appealing without some serious changes to EA's EULA for BF2. Until then, it is no where near as good as it looks.
