You really shouldn't take the option away, I often have to team change so that the teams can be even (skill wise and numerically). It's another one of those problems in PR that involves fixing the player, not the game.

The point im trying to make is it would cause more problems than it would solve, some servers would want it. Maybe make the script available but don't force it for sure.

Personally i change to insurgents. Searching for those caches is a dread, ambushing is fun.

Scenario: All the good players on one team, all the bad players on another. Good team wins round after round, good players who care try to switch teams but can't, bad players get frustrated and leave.

Happens far too often on servers where you can't change teams.

Team changing shouldn't be disabled, it's now already hard enough to get on the same team with your irl-friends, disabling the team changing would really kill it.
And I love playing with my friends in the same team.

Wow, this guy's alias is what this thread is in a nutshell. Teamswitching can't be prevented. There's always gonna be some 12 year old who wants the helo, instead of having the kickass Molotov or Technical and an AK-47, or whatever else they have. I'm personally an infantry whore most of the time I play in PR. I usually want the automatic riflemen kit, but when I don't get it, I don't really care. Just use what I have to the best of my ability. C'mon guys, it's not like you're gonna lose the game because you can't fly the helo, or drive the tank/apc. It'll respawn, there's always a next time. Get on ground soldier. As the .7 tip said, waiting around in at the air spawn won't make jets spawn any faster. Get into the action, soldier!

if i find ppl obviously going for the big assets all the time i tend to kick them. its the opposite of teamplay and maturity.

of course its just a game but there 726027 games out there.
and maybe ppl who like to play serious have the right have anyone in the team contributing at least just a little bit.
a game should involve fairness, even or especially a wargame.
and playing only when getting the "best" assets is somewhat arrogant.

i remember Huntermed a few days ago he had an incredible high k/d in a mec apc on muttrah, but the following days he didnt tried to reserve this asset but just went infantry.
that is behavior many decent communityplayer have and is needed to have good battles.

This really sucks on insurgency maps or even regular:when people switch they know
the caches/rally/FB....not good too many people abuse that.

I hope this doesn't sound too submissive, but the reason I play PR over any other shooter is because it's an escape from the horrible shooter cliché that emphasizes winning and losing, killing and dying. PR is so much more, to me, than a kill kill win win shooter. Obviously I always play to win, and to stay alive, but it's also all about the team, and the squad.

tl;dr, If everyone wants to join the other team, and only the good pilots get to fly, so be it. I want to experience PR from all angles, even if that means being grossly outnumbered, or having the technological disadvantage.

I don't think he's trying to insult you here, i think he's just saying it's not a big deal.

I've been auto team-switched a handfull of times, a couple of those times I switched back straight away because i was in a good squad that I 'clicked' with. The other times, i just played on and thought, well, this team could use some help.

I'm thinking you're just unlucky to be in the wrong server at the wrong time, does it really happen to you that often? If it does, just try not to die.

my thoughts exactly but it really sucks to be force switched from your squad, it also makes its boring when you get switched and you now where the opposing team have their firebases etc since you just built it.

I disagree with this. I can only play PR with friends due to the fact im tired of the 15 year old squad leader who get pissed off if you stop for half a second and has a whiny little voice. And u usally the friends are on the other team so you have to sit and wait for your chance to switch.

Scenario;

Teamswitching is disabled. I am on my own on one side, with people I'm on TS with on the other. I want to play with them, not against them.

I disconnect and keep refreshing the server stats until the next person to join will be placed on the right side (assuming the teams are balanced, if there are an even number of players on, the next will join on BLUfor, if there are an odd number, next will be OPfor).

I play with the people I want to play with.

I'm infantry, I couldn't give a fuck about assets, I just wanna play with the people I know.

It would be nice occasionally to play 'cuda as US for a change...I'm always Chinese on that map...
