And you've demonstrated you don't understand my point, so we'll leave it at that.

Thank you for your feedback. It's always most welcome.

To say a man is automatically defensive when you badger him into a discussion with no real outcome or reason for it buddy then I think youll find its yourself that comes out looking the tool...

You cant pick a fight with someone for no reason and expect people to hear or bother with your point ;)

But to be fair waaah wah, I think people need to take the advice from your sig m8, would serve them better I feel :D

Good day to you sir

No responses to moi please

The locked squad thing has been done to death, hence why epoch may "appear" to respond like an angry terrier when really hes a cuddly Spaniel

Never seen any point in it myself, Viglen had a CAS squad on kashan last night, unlocked for pubby goodness soon enough he has a MiG and a Frogfoot about whilest he's lasing targets, along with a couple of body guards and other squadmembers spotting out targets

Coordinating the whole thing we had death coming from above in seconds wherever we needed it

I myself on Basrah had an unlocked APC squad, just took a warrior the rest of us hopped in the back everytime a squad needed extraction wed hop out and give covering fire, they'd get dragged away and we'd hold the fort till the APC got back

Once again transport squad with choppers, the piubbys acted brilliantly in Securing LZs for the choppers and making sure it was safe and Free from AA for us to come in

I honestly cant find nor think of any legitimate reason to have a locked squad unless you A. want to isolate yourself from other players and only play with those you know, This in itself is entirely against the T&T Community Ethos of team play and working together with strangers Or B. someone has been disconnected and youre waiting for them to come back in, in which case a locked squad for a period of time is of course acceptable

only ever seen bad things come from Locked squads and if people just try with pubby folk then youll find it aint that hard and there are good folk out there and after all, not following your SLs orders gets you kicked, so any pubbys that are in a squad which otherwise would have been locked to them then they best follow orders or else theyre out

I mean no hostility in my response I merely mean to say we understand all the criticisms possible for having the "No locking" rule and we're yet to come across one that changes our opinion on why a squad should be locked. So therefore thats the way it is on the server, most likely the way it's going to be always and it works very well for us and all the lovely regulars and pubby folk we've met over the years and we see no reason to change it

Much love to all x

If im the SL, and the driver in the APC i will lock my squad. Its not that i want to "isolate" myself from the rest of the team, i just dont think that i need anyone elce in my squad, and if more people join it would just suck for them.

No RP = No fun.

If im a sniper/spotter with a friend of mine, im gonna lock my squad because if more people join my squad, they will just get in the way and again, i wont be able to set any RPs.

Also, if you have a transport guy in your squad, he is really a waste of space. Yes, he might be doing a good job, but he could do just as good job in a single/2-3 man squad, and your squad could have another infantry guy on the ground.

Not everything is RP based m8, and server rules are server rules, if you dont like it... ;)

I agree with you completely. Great server for teamwork! Always enjoy playing on it, due to the fact that there is ALWAYS someone watching everything that goes on 8) .

Thanks for a great server! If I were to choose from a list, which one to donate cash/contribute to, I would pick this one. :)

Waaah_Wah why don't you just carry on being a sniper or an APC driver, just stop being a SL, problem solved.. you won't have to worry about not putting a rally down then, your SL will :)

thats one way to use teh APCs, having the infantry of the squad in front of the APC with teh SL to mark targets is another.

Oh so a squad can work just as well without RPs?

since when is this a discussion thread about RP use?

under T&T rules you can use PRs and any asset if you arrange ur squad correctly

What Nicko said ;) Those markers are invalueble.

Having your SL on the outside doesnt work as good. He might get killed, or wont be able to spot stuff while under fire. Or if he is busy shooting stuff. The driver doesnt have to do any of those things so he will always keep looking out for threats.

What works best is having one locked 2 man squad with an APC assisting a 6 man inf squad. That can get EPIC

Not if im the SL and driver of an APC. Then i might aswell lock my squad because the remaining 4 guys will just have a sucky round.

yeah it may do for you, and it may do for others but what If the map is kashan and all you have is locked 2 man squads for APc's and lets not forget the 'transport chopper' squads.
The ones actually trying to get inf squads together can't.

(disclaimer:- I mentioned the transport squads but I have had no experience with them being locked they usually work well for the team - worst experience I had was I once had to join the transport squad as the other squads were full, after a while I was kicked to make room for another pilot which is fair enough as they explained this to me. by then I could join a squad with room in it anyway)

you could still have your squad and be SL then, but locking the squad is ignorant imo, if anyone joins just let them know what you are doing, some players like to do their own thing anyway and they may have a dabble at sniper or spec-ops. Rally points aren't as much of an issue now we can have firebases too.

In my experience, 2 man locked APC squads race around muttrah hunting for kills and FOBs instead of supporting the infantry

but in any case, as I have already stated

all because you have 4 guys on foot with ur APC, doesnt mean you can't support an infantry squad, it just means you won't be transporting that squad.
