In my opinion giving 2min spawn time for civikillers is not the right way. They have to go to the officer/commander and should talk about, what he done wrong. But i think this is not possible in BF2, so here it comes:

When a blue guy kills an civi, he gets teleportet in 5s to his mainbase in somekind of prison. (like the cp) You cant exit it and have to wait 60s there (or longer) and see a demonstration that you should NOT shoot on civis. Maybe picture of civi with red cross and militant picture (should be possible as there is the text when entering the cp). (Or make a room where u can see those pictueres all over and hear a voice (dont shoot civis :D ) after your waitingtime you get teleported to Rp?FB?Mainbase, what ever. I think its more effective then just adding some spawn time! and also more realistic. think about it!

lol, nice idea^^

Problem is: A soldier could shoot a civie just to get there. Too attractive for smacktards i think.

Other situation: A player got a sniper/special operations/hat kit and doesnt want to lose it - in front of him are multiple enemies and civilians. He'd shoot a civi just to survive the situation and keep the kit.

I don't think that you can actually teleport players anyway and force them to spawn at a particular location?

But It would be nice if you were forced to look at a big "do not kill civis" poster when you are waiting to spawn having been killed

I dont mind the punishment for killing civis, but please give them back those green shirts. Its almost impossible to notice now the difference between regular solider and civilian when you are in blackhawk, with your powerful gun and you have 5 sec to decide who to shoot and who not.

I strafed 3 from the blackhawk the other day, they look like normal hajjis from the air.

I think if you kill a Civi once your spawn time shold increase by 60 seconds, kill one twice and it's increased by 80 seconds and then kill one a third time and you're spawn time will increased by 120 seconds.
Also, the Coalition team needs to loose intel points for killing Civis. The player who kills the civi also needs to get punished with points.
Finally, just injuring a Civi should get you minus points, but no spawntime increase.

I seriously don't know why people don't support high punishments for Civilian kills. I've only injured a Civilian twice and killed one once in all the time I've been playing PR (so like 1-2 years time, but not straight). People just need to learn to not shoot someone unless they can see that individual's weapon. When you see an enemy don't just run into the middle of a street and starting getting rounds at them, lay down and observe them from cover. Also, Civilians don't act like normal Insurgents most of the time as far as typical activities.

And with helicopters, only fire on like a technical or fire on infantry if an individual on the ground has identified the suspects as hostile.

Ye I say -5 points for the coalition if civilian get shot, but not if they suicide, fall off a building, get shot by their own team etc......but I can see this being to complex to code for bf2?


The problem with civis in the past has been they suicide so the coalition lose tickets, jump off buildings and run around getting shot on purpose....This is why the spawn time has been increased I think. However, that and the coalition not really being punished at all means no one is civi any more, which also sucks.

I am sure the devs will come up with a good compromise. Civilians are essential to insurgency I feel, but I think some more python trickery will be needed to make them work fairly for everyone....

hmm, Teleport is possible! (wrong rp select f.e.). The idea with kit saving is good, maybe you can avoid this, 1. kill player after looking on that big "DO NOT SHOOT CIVIS" 2. Remove his kit (sure hardcoded^^) 3. Kits are lying after 60s in that Prision, wich is the door to get out. Thats not so difficult to code. Just teleport them in a secound room, with a Car as wall And you need the car to get out (you cant move it without rifemen kit). a new car will Spawn immdetly as the old left the place to block the exit. To not abuse the car, he has to move out a door to be at mainbase.

1. is best version, 3. ist not so good, but possible to code. just a dev has to give a comment what is possible on that.

Well they are called collaborators now yet the opfor still isn't allowed to shoot them which seems odd. IRL some guy running around hanging with his local insurgent crew is most likely to be treated as an insurgent and not a regular non combatant civilian. I had some suggestions about the civ/collaborator but I don't see the need to repeat myself.

Whatever penalties are levelled at civs for dying should be doubled for allies not equal



Maybe civs should have the old bf2 spotter ability so they can give out alot of info to their side

Being teleported to the "PR penalty box" straight after killing a civi is a bit unrealistic. If the killer spawned there after his next death, that'd be great.

Dont shoot unless you see his gun, or if he appears to be holding one

civilians spawn time needs to be lowered to at least a minute if not less. and insurgents should not take longer to spawn then the US team because they die alot. That needs to be changed too. 3 seconds a death is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy to much.
