Just getting back to bf2 PR.

Post by TheLastGod »

I'm going back to BF2: PR since all the other realistic shooters i have no one is playing online, so i'm going here. and i'm wondering how is the stealth combat such as sneaking around because last time i play you could get far trying to be that black ops soldier. so just wondering how is it now. i know the normal combat is good.

Its good, as long as you are aware of engine limitations - like grass does not render at distance

destroying bridges, FOBs, ambushing roads or sabotaging main base assets (as server rules allow)

if your looking for stealth i wouldnt say pr is really the best. pr is more of a grunt game than a spec ops style game, and running off on your own may get you kicked out of a squad. it can be done dont get me wrong, but keep in mind the spec ops kit is very limited. id say more people like the spec ops style of gameplay which is what makes so many games like ghost recon popular, but i cant stand that style. i like to be with a group of fellow marines with m16s dishing out the hurt then crawling around all alone behind a building or something. but, to each his own, just make sure whatever squad you join is ok with you being mr navy seal.

If you want to be stealthy, PR is the way to go. The cammo is so good you can step right on top of a soldier and never know he was there in jungle maps, even with just a standard rifleman. If you want to be stealthy, having a sniper or specops kit isn't really necessary. Having an officer's kit would still let you laser designate targets, and just a regular engineer can put a real damper of enemy vehicle movements as long as he has a source of ammo by laying mines (like ammo crates from a FB you disabled). If they give engineers a SLAM or something similar in .85, they could make a nice stealth kit too.
Everyone wants to easily kill their opponent but nobody wants to be the one easily killed. That line of thinking escalates weaponry to the point where practically every soldier has a shoulder-mounted nuke launcher that when fired, automatically displays the text "pwnt".- [R-CON]Wolfe

Nice move thou Rezza! Yes hiding is fun and tense! I like that sometimes. But Im with Caboose on this one. Being a grunt is far more fun! Dont get me wrong, sneaking and misleading the enemy is a lot of fun! But we need us grunts!

The Mod has kept me playing BF2 . It does have its problems that annoy the hell out of me and basically means sometimes I’ve had enough but when you get that o one round when the players and map are right its fantastic.

But for the love of god don’t expect to run about the map I killed loads of players just driving over them as they cant run or move at speed. You see a truck coming and its like your running in water…..amazing in real life it’s a huge part of urban warfare speed and aggression but hay it’s a game.

Not to sure about the shooting just now on it, it feels off and at close quarters you cant hit enemy players you tend you shoot around them.

We hope for fixes as usual .
