I think the way it's coded is quite linear itself, otherwise these kinda variables would probably be in game. Would be interesting to know if there are actually any sly complexities to the coding that they could work with though, I doubt it though.

haha
when I saw the title I was sure we were gonna be treated to a World of Warcraft "eat something to get stamina" type suggestion...I was getting teh youtube vid of Popeye the Sailorman eating spinach ready....
Instead we got a really good suggestion, I like it

As Rudd, came in expecting ****, come out seeing gold. If this is possible, it's a great idea.

Interesting idea, I've always thought of stamina bars as how much more lactic acid you can take before you 'wind' yourself and have to rest, so you should still be able to leg it to cover even if you are knackered... (sp?)
Actually, mentioning that, though it may be a little annoying in game, in real life even slight inclines can require a lot of energy and therefore build up a lot of lactic acid in your muscles(Because you don't have the pendulum effect which a walk normally provides you, you have to push to go up hill or run). Maybe it would be realistic to lose stamina while walking up a large incline.

I am almost 100% sure that this aint possible.

yeah, the incline thing won't happen, but since you have to sprint to get up placed sometimes with jumps also if its like Korengal thats already ingame to an extent
I'm terrible with maths, but can the game understand exponential changes rather than linear ones?

Re: The way the "Energy Bar" works...
i do not know if this is possible to be honest but some things do point towards these kinda functions should be available to be used in the engine.
i'm not entirely sure on this but i believe that since some of our community members are making realistic ballistics for the weapons (these are only possible using squared equations, what we would need for this) so this points towards it being an option and it would be absolutely amazing to use.
although i'm not sure if we should have faster regen the further down the energy bar goes i think that it should be more towards the end that it picks up the pace both because it would enqurage using all of your stamina at once and then wait for 2 seconds and you are ready for the next sprint. if it was at the almost full end it would enqurage people to save their energy and it would also make it a smaller sacrifice when you jump over a small object if you are in full energy status because it would regenerate rather fast.
just my 2 cents

The problem with this, as no one can deny, is that we'd all see a bunch of squads walking-then running-then walking-then running-.. Sort of bobbing forwards and backwards in a line. Even more so than it happens now.
The image of that alone makes me want to say nay.
Naw, the way I see it, is you have to punish the guy that sprints all over, and reward the guy that saves it until he's high-tailing from bullets.

What is sprint for then? Running across roads while under fire or running from one side of fools road to the other when no vehicles are available?

I like the sound of curviness
it's annoying to think when youve burnt up all your sprint and you're then hiding behind a tree, you still have to wait 20seconds while someones shooting at you before youre "motivated" enough to get up and run, Id be motivated a hell of a lot quicker
