should I buy the original game to play it online?

Post by martov »

the fact is:
im from argentina, I have 250 ping in all servers, it worth buying the original game to play on those servers?

the only server in my country has 15 players at late night (is the averange amount of players) and dont need the original, is the only place I play.

I dont know if with 250 ping I should buy it, I should spend a LOT of money if I want the original game. (for me is like 100 dolars).

it can be played OK with 250 ping?

"So you already play PR but don't have a copy of vBF2?"

I am from argentina... here people buy not-original games from shops
actualy there are few shops where people buy original ones because they are really expensive.

we buy no-originals for 10 pesos (our cash) and originals are at 100 pesos or more expensive. (battlefield 2142 is at 130, star wars the force unleashed 240)

with 20 pesos you buy a mouse for example.

try to get a cheap copy on ebay?

About the ping: meh, 250 is really borderline. it is possible but won't be a lot of fun, probably.

Hm, 100 Pesos is about $30 or €22. Not that much really. But of course, I don't know what your monthly income (if any) is.

there are not cheap copies here, I think that the delivery cost would be worst (who makes deliverys in south america :? ??: ). and my father dont like the idea of giving credit card codes (thats the way it is said?) here the currency is always cash

look, Salah ad Din, I earn as many pesos as you earn dolars, that will give you an idea. (people here ern 2000 pesos if they low-middle class) middle class earn 2500 pesos

1 dolar here is 3.15 pesos
1 euro here is 4.50 pesos

If you buy the original, you will get Unlimited Restrictions, Mods, Patches.. i think you are going in the wrong way.

problem is ping, not money.

:-)

and here in argentina there is not "wrong way" in pc games / ps2 games or any game. everithing is "pirate" or not original

message to torenico if he is from argentina, as his location under his image says:
si sos de argentina porque me ablas en ingles xD a vos te va con el ping a 250?

SO, will I be able to play smoothly?

'Click21 Embratel' is a Brazilian server with a thriving community, buy the original and play on their server, i'm almost certain you wont have a 250 ping

Also if this thread deviates into illegal methods of acquiring Bf2, points will be issued and the thread locked.

TNT Express delivers even to Antarctica (no joke) but they're a bit pricy and normally only do B2B.

Try finding an argentinian seller.

lets put things clear

I CAN BUY IT, I HAVE THE POSSIBILITY AND MONEY, and a shop not too far

DONT HAVE A SERVER WITH PEOPLE TALKING SPANISH OR ENGLISH wich have less than 250 ping

that is my problem, I can buy the original, but if I cant play it is worthless

so, I want to know if anyone had played at 250 ping and had a decent experience

I think online-games are only enjoyable, if youre below 100 (Ping).
Maybe you should try the SP.
Um what connection do you have?

I have a 614kb connection.

also I am far from US, UK is not far from US. look

ping has nothing to do with internet connection. LAG does.

ping is the time between you send a pakage and you receve a answer from the server. if you send multiple pacages and your connection cant handle it you get lag. :)

Sorry chap, by 'original' I thought you ment vBF2 as that is the original game that PR is a modification of. :o ops:

I don't think Arentina is outside of the law but it still seems you don't have a legitimate copy of vBF2... :-|

As Priby has said, aim to be on a server with ping at 100ish or lower if you don't want any frustration. Some servrs kick for being above 150 (I think it might be)
