why exist this type of people????? why dont use normal words to say that u are ... a nooooob. man dont need reinstal bf2... look for ur own way to fix the problems. i always have the handshanking error ...but i use my head. i go first inside spanish server... the server installed the pnkb.b after i desconect, see my ruuning process and buala¡¡¡ the pnkb.b its there... after i play for a long hours without problems¡¡ please dont say more that the PR its shit or fuck mod o blablablabla. think abaut u first.

reinstalling doesnt work - what you need to do is, when you get the pb b error, join a server you don't want to join, then abort when its on 5%. after that try joining the server you want to join

okay...if PBSVC DOESNT work...start a local game and let it load up, then disconnect and join the multiplayer server of your choice. Dont ask me how, apparently, it just works.

I have to admit this works for me too. I tried all the other solutions like playing with and updating punkbuster, but simply loading a local game (I usually just load a training map) then disconnect and reconnecting to a internet game works.

There is no logic to this but hey, when is there when it comes to this sort of thing?

Dude I had the same problem before I got this mod it all started after punkbuster updated and almost everyone is having this problem

I've had this problem, I think it depends on whether the server updates their PB or not. I run a server and you do have to update PB manually believe it or not. Also go to PunkBuster Online Countermeasures click on Battlefield 2, find software updates and click download. Then, at the top, click PBSetup, download it, and it will update.

i tryed all...

-uninstall/reinstall PR
- reintsall BF2
- update PB
-and many other things
- i found a way to activate PunkBusterB.exe manually but when i join a server PnkBstrB.exe turns of and *K-I-C-K*
but i only have this problem in PR ... not in vanilla ... i played at the same day vanilla without PB probs and then PR= kick kick kcik

sometimes , when i'm realy lucky i can play PR without a kick ... but when i leave the server where i played on and try to connect to a other one -KICK-

I'm still sticking to my theory of it's the server's problem. Considering me and my friend both go into same servers, PB fully updated, he's in a different state, and it still happens.

It might be the servers, I noticed that when I join a non PB server then leave and join a PB one that it works when it wouldn't work be4, but w/e.

(Edit) Just found something that might work:

Go here and download the PB updater, it's in .zip btw
Run it then click add game then add BF2 and click check for updates.
Your PB should update and I think this might fix it, Give it a try and tell me if it works

Ok here is what seems to be the tried and tested sure way of getting it to work.

RUN PB update
RUN PBsvc Test (not reinstall or anything like that just test)
Open PR
Join an empty server and let it load to 50% then quit.
Now choose your server of choice


That should work everytime.

Ok, this is getting extremely ridiculous. Why is this STILL happening? It's been close to TWO MONTHS. Why hasn't there been a patch? Why haven't the Dev's really even commented on the issue at all? Why hasn't there even been a community effort to at least try and establish a cure?

This has been happening on 3/4ths of the servers I play in. Every single crackpot theory for 'fixing' it doesn't work. This is ridiculous. I haven't even played PR for the past 3 weeks because I've given up on being able to play it until the Dev's actually formulate a patch.

This IS a problem with PR, and PR alone. Vanilla and any other assorted mods DO NOT have this problem. No other game I've ever played has had this problem.

What is going on? Something needs to get done, I'm tired of logging onto the news section every day and not seeing a single attempt at fixing this issue that (from what I've seen) is affecting a ton of PR players. Sure, the crackpot theories fix it for some. Not me. Not a couple people I know. Not a good deal of us.

Fix this game.
