Couple things I think we could do without.
1. Tripwire. I think its really useless in a majority of the game.
2. Only faction that should really get Chinooks are USMC. Maybe Us Army.

Also Israeli Army could also be left out imo.

Everyone has a point of view and those are mine I don't see anything wrong with it. Also do the brits really need another transport chopper???? Isn't the Merlin enough? I just think the brits have had a lot of upgrades and also before making another faction maybe we could work on MEC, China, and Insurgent a little more. Let's also not forget Militia.

Also the UK aren't a prime user of the Chinook or the variant they came up with... so it seems quite pointless to just give them another transport when they just got the Merlin.

Also I apologize it seems that the US Army use the Chinook quite more then the USMC. Both do us them though more then the brits though.

did you do any research?

The USMC dont use the Chinook to start with, they use the Sea Knight which is like a mini Chinook, thou is being phased out and being replaced with the v22. The Chinook is used alot by both the US Army and the British in r/l as well as some other countries but not in PR. Also the Brits have not "just got" the merlin, they've had the merlin from v0.5, and the Chinook will not do the same job as the merlin once its ingame.

I did do research and I do know that the USMC use the Sea Knight. In the research I have done Us. Army, Australian Army, Japanese Army, and the Dutch Air Force all use this aircraft more then the Brits. That doesn't mean that the brits don't use the chinook its just that they use other aircraft much more. WHat those aircraft are I do not know. I just think there has been a lot of UK love and not enough love for MEC, CHina, and the other 2 insurgent factions.

ehhh ye... the fact is, did we say the Chinook was only for the Brits? It's like saying we only did the Harrier for the Brits :p

the fact is we can use it for more than 1 faction :)

So by your research, we will in the end be able to use it for 4 factions in PR once the Aus and Dutch community mods are done too which = alot out of 1 bit of work :D

Also, I dunno what's missing in your mind for the PLA, MEC and INS? we do work on them alot? try listing all the stuff we have made for them, you may be surprised :)

I dont want to start arguin and pissin off, but, Chinook is useless when you take in count the BF2 engine, this chopper is made for transport 50 guyz loaded to teeth... alot more than the 8 allowed by the engine. May be the CH47A if still in service or a L33T(thats how many of you will call it anyway) Chinook whit Gatlin and Mk19 like real one as a gunship role it would be a nice add-on, but even there, Chinook is only a practice target that can't match its real counter part.

But i'm full supporting the addition of I.D.F. those guyz have worked hard on there project and they deserve it but if dev take over a faction i would rather prefere the Canadian Army which is currently playing a major role in Afganistan. I known Israel also play a determinent role, but Canadians also deserve their place in Project Reality.

To be back on my business, i dont update the thread since many weeks now, but i think its a time for a little update.

....Jeez...Hotrod and Hauler, seriously guys...

But somthing perked up my ears there, Mk19 on transport Chinook...*slurps*...Rhino, remember when testing some of the guys thought the gunship on Muttrah would be overkill? And it turns out its not, and it gets taken down really easily when not in the hands of a practiced player! Maybe a single mk19 on the right side of a Chinook would come in handy...waddayasay? :D

I told you guys it would be fine, but tbh it gets taken down more than I thought it would, but that's mainly down to bad pilots :p
