Hit Confirmation - Training Mode

Post by Truism »

Imo, the little x that shows up when you damage someone/something in vBF2 should pop up when you do so in Training Mode. Because, you know, it's training mode and stuff, and knowing when you've done the right thing is a pretty valuable thing when training.

No, training already has too much vanilla gameplay.

the question is, would this really change the gameplay (it's only a small hud change)(which can't be done unless you have two different PR games since the hud is universal for one instance of the game) but if it can be done i could see some use for it since as an example sniper shots don't render outside a certain distane which makes it hard to see if your method is working. (not that i endorse sniping by any means)

Eh? It's only spawntimes that are vanilla like, it's not a "gamemode" anyway cos your not playing a proper game. Some people do abuse it to mess about with planes with other people, but that's a good thing, they aren't doing it on proper servers and they might learn a thing or two about flying while they're at it.

Don't think it's good for training though, when you wanna simulate a real game you don't wanna know when your hitting people and when your not.

While there's a thread open kinda regarding it, you can change the spawn config to be like a proper game server-side can't you? Would be useful for infantry drills etc.

It would be useful to have SOME sort of a way to get feedback on your shots in training mode. Not necessarily the vanilla hit confirmation, though. Some destructible, target-like objects that can be killed with one shot and that respawn quickly would be even better, allowing you to get a feel for the deviation without needing somebody to be there to serve as target. At longer ranges you don't see the puffs of dust, so being able to see if you hit a target would help with weapon familiarization.

I heard of a map (or mode, I'm not sure) that includes a shooting range, which will have all sorts of crazy shenanigans, like pop-up boards that when you hit, a message will come up in the top left indicating range.
