would this work for 128 player server?

Yup 97 bots on one team against the humans. That is our coop server and it can not handle much more than 16 people. That server is operated out of a members house running on fiber optic (1.7 MB upload). If we was going to continue testing 128 player I would rent a server box for the test. All and All money is no object. I have offered to pay people off to even get this to work.

Do you need server space for a test? and a bunch of volunteers, PM me or hop in our TS

After the AIX mod we will be installing PR. But thats coop,, I want to play 128 player conquest on a 16 player map size

Well I have rented a server to do testing on. I have tried everything to get PR CoOp to work with out any joy. I know I figured it out before a year ago or so.

I wanted to test CoOp mode in hopes maybe EA didn't hard code the limit in CoOp.

I'm not giving up though I have emailed EA again asking about 128 player slots.

Me and a million other bf2 players would like to see 128 player option for mods and unranked and or ranked servers. Please take out the restrictions with the release of the new patch 1.5 Give us the ability to allow for as many players as the server and clients can handle. This would make BF2 a whole new game!

Any company that knows what they're doing wants to encourage the modding community, since it's really a net win for them to have a dedicated community built up around their product. It's the reason Valve is so successful.

Of course, this IS EA we're talking about.

They designed in modding but not for the product to exceed its original limits and so compete with future products they market and that only makes sense

Also they get more money for ranked offical games afaik


There is a pr project that could use some server capacity if you were willing to give some use of the server it might help things progress:

Sure, tried and failed horribly Ive seen videos of 250 bots with vanilla but Ive not managed that either :/


Problem is bf2 is single core only so you will start needing a beast of a machine to run many bots over 100, 4 cores wont help it needs to be overclocked alot

bf2 sp bot change, download that. can add 255 bots. though i ctd alot with this rig:

q6600 quad core @ 3.4ghz
8800gt
2 gig ram

can get 100/120 before ctd heaven.

128 is possible, like trackmania, but because is bad example, I put one screenshot down, to show you that and action games can run with huge mass of people.
Programing problem and legal issues - well, you can raplace one file with your own, right ?
And you can add additional "own" files ...

GLQ mate....BF2 cannot do what you are asking via mods. It needs EA to modify teh exe, which only THEY can do/give permission to do, because that is what they call THE LAW.

I was vaguely excited by this, except I saw that none of the servers were BF2 ones! Its a bit like asking for my car to be change so it can reach 150mph then pointing a Lewis Hamilton's car when I'm told its not possible

we did that already, the petition was rather ruined by individuals from gaming harrasment communities

Please search through the 128 player server thread, alot of very clever people have been fighting for this for a long time
