Keypad arrangements?
By convention, the keys on calculator-style keypads are arranged such that 123 is on the bottom row. In contrast, a telephone keypad has the 123 keys at the top.
In PR, i've seen people used both methods. For example: D5kp1 may be down-left corner, but for other people it could be the top left corner.
What way should it be?

Re: Keypad arrangements?
I personally use keyboard numpad layout - simply because that's the reference that 99% of PR players will have in front of them, with the only possible exception probably being laptop-using players.

Keyboard
1) every1 has a keyboard in front of them
2) starting in the bottom left just makes sense in terms of map reading and the process of isolating the larger sector

No, I wouldn't call you oldschool, I'd call you silly.Emnyron wrote:I use the "phone" method, call me oldschool.
You're putting yourself and your squad/ team into a confusing situation.
Use the layout displayed on the map in A1 as Gazz pointed out as this is what 99% of the players use.
Doing it the opposite way is just going to create bad intel etc...

Re: Keypad arrangements?
Well if you guys are trying to get a consensus I would say use the keyboard. only because more people have it in front of them. Is it better? Thats a personal opinion. I play with the Keyboard method, but the phone method is easier as we read left, right up, down.
Technically it should be like this, seeing as the rest of the map start off at the upper left.
No wonder all the older players keep going to the wrong area

1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
But most players use the keyboard method. Its easy, its in front of you, just use it. 4 5 6

Re: Keypad arrangements?
I use the keyboard numpad on my laptop. Some laptops don't have a keypad, but the widescreen ones usually do have a numpad, because it can allow it.

Wow, never seen that before...but it's quite unclear on most maps.
@DeltaFart
I've never seen it before since 0.8. Isn't that smaller grid introduced since 0.8 ?

Re: Keypad arrangements?
The numbered grid in A1 is new, but people have been referring to keypads (by estimates) for a while. I didn't know what they were on about until someone actually wrote 'keypad' while describing the locationNyteMyre wrote:I've never seen it before since 0.8.
