What criteria do you take into account when joining a squad?
When you load into a game and see a few squadds with spaces?
Do you join them because:
There name? e.g. inf voip
Friendly faces?
Highest points?
Rally point?
There stuck together?
Or anything else.

Re: What criteria do you take into account when joining a squad?
SL not being a sniper.
Squad with a clearly defined role (ie, not specop+one man tank crew+pilot).
Them actually being responsive after I join.
Familiar names or clantags.
Names are notoriously unreliable, as people stick with squads for hours, so something that used to be inf voip an hour ago is still going to be inf voip an hour later even if it becomes a sniperwhore paradise in the meantime. Lack of rally point isn't really a good indicator of whether or not a squad is good, as everyone can lose their rally once in a while. Sticking together is generally a good indicator of a good squad. However, a squad spread out all over the map can mean that they got people who transferred to them and need to link up, or that they got separated from each other as a result of intense fighting, and so it doesn't necessarily have to be a smacktard squad.

Re: What criteria do you take into account when joining a squad?
I usually check for a couple of things:
1. English/Somewhat clear English, imperative for me if I am to be any use to the squad
2. That the Squad Leader has the OFFICER kit
3. That VOIP is being used properly and often
4. I check the squads progress on the Squad tab before joining
5. I generally join a fuller squad

Re: What criteria do you take into account when joining a squad?
1. Officer kit
2. How close they are together
3. What jobs they are doing e.g. A squad with and officer, medic, a tank and a helo is unlikely to be the most organised of squads...

Re: What criteria do you take into account when joining a squad?
SL has Officer's Kit
Rally Point on map
Squad position and proximity
Squad name(Default names and 1337 names are usually avoided)
Player names
Score(Not at all vital but high scores suggest the squad has built FOPs which is a good sign)

Re: What criteria do you take into account when joining a squad?
1. Where the squad is on the map, ie are they together/spread out and what assets are they using. A squad 1337ing in a tank and a helo is generally a bad squad
2. SL has officer kit
3. Rally down, indicates that they've at least some idea as to how to play as a squad and combined with a squad that are together is a big thing to check when joining
4. English speaking, and active on VOIP, a squad that cant communicate is a bad squad
5. SL acknowledges that I have joined
6. Friendly faces

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Re: What criteria do you take into account when joining a squad?
1. Is a rally point on map
2. Is squad already full
3. Is there at least 2 in the squad and it is not Pilot/Tank crew of some sort
4. After join - do a mic check. If squad leader responds (in an approving manner) then I give it a go.
5. If no to #4, start my own squad

A squad where people use some common sense, are resourceful and can adapt to anything (ie. infantry, tanks, helicopters) and are also up for some fun and silly things, like civi car attacks on Muttrah.
...very rare.

2 - Their positions on the map
3 - I join them. "Good afternoon/Good evening". No response? Silent VOIP? I'm outta here!

Re: What criteria do you take into account when joining a squad?
Order of importances:
1. Names (Always has VOIP)
2. VOIP
3. Location on map
4. Score (not to be leet but most of the time there are playing right)
I also will wait about 20-30 sec before joining a squad and watch the map. See whats going on and how players/squads are interacting. A spread out squad a no go for me. Let you know whos playing and whos play grab ***.

Re: What criteria do you take into account when joining a squad?
I just hit caps lock, click on all the squads each in turn and join the one where all the highlighted dots are close.
If they don't have a rally I assume they'll have one soon, if they don't have an Officer kit I assume the SLs on their way to get one.

Re: What criteria do you take into account when joining a squad?
Their Name - If every squad is just named Alpha-Gamma, I'll probably just join the one with the closest to 6 people.
Officer Kit - I then look to see if their SL actually has an Officer Kit.
Rally point - I look on the map to see if they have a rally-point
Squad Kits - I then look to see what kit everyone is using and make sure they are actually Infantry and not just doing random shit.
English - After I get in the squad I make sure they all speak english, especially the SL. If I get a SL speaking in a foreign language, I instantly leave.
Thats about it. The only other modifier would be if I see a squad named "MPN" then I usually join that one.

Re: What criteria do you take into account when joining a squad?
first thing, if i see 1 squady in a tank in the middle of the map, another in a chopper completely on the other side, another as infantry nowhere near either of the other squadys, and the squad leader asking "how do i get a kit?" then im out.
