How about introducing a Lieutnant ?
On some maps like Kashan, there is a lot of work to be done for the CO, so sitting in a boot for the duration of the game isnt a problem. Plenty to do for the CO.
On maps like taed sae however there is far less to do for a co. He basically has to make sure that the right ammount of squads is attacking/defending and decide where to place the Firebases. The result is there is rarely a CO on those maps. So how about introducing a Lieutnant for that kind of maps, that basically works like the CO in 0.75, while still having the commander position as it is now in 0.8 on maps like Kashan. Is that possible ?

Re: HOw about introducing a Lieutnant ?
I assume you mean that the commander gains different assets etc that are determined by the map?
Would be good and it might be possible, the DEVs are, after all, magicians.

I'm for this idea if you still have some sort of Lieutenant only vehicle that he/she must be in range of it to use assets. Just to keep the Lieutenant a little safer on the field and keep them from just being the Lieutenant for the kit and free asset abuse, and also show the enemy that a high priority target is nearby if they spot the vehicle.

No r-com Iam talking about replacing the commander with a lieutnant on infantery heavy maps, there is a lot of idle time for a commander. A lieutnant would be like the CO of 0.75 he can move around the map freely and access the command screen.
On maps where the Commander has less idle time everything should be as is as far as the CO is concerned, meaning he must be in his booth.

This is somehow a good idea. Lower ranked officer that are superior to SLs often move a certain distance behind frontlines to coordinate logistics and infantry movement. While on large 4x4km maps it makes sense a field Commander must stay in his base to coordinate large scale operations, on smaller maps where operations are smaller and tighter, it is more likely that he has to watch for his men closer than he does in his base.
Not to go kill ennemies, but like said, to provide functionnal logistics and coordinate attacks with a better view than when in their lil tomato can trailer!

So it's CO on one map, but on others where there is little to do, it's called a Lieutenant?
Would be good and would probably attract more (dam, can't say commanders lol............ erm...) "Senior Officers" (Haha, I think I got it

I think this might be the big 'H' word, just because I think the squad system can't be touched, but I don't know if you can have the Commander Role different by map.

Was thinking the same thing Scot.
Hopefully the squad system will become more free for modders in 1.5. All we can do is hope.

*VoX and Scot meet up, nod at each other in the usual "bond" style, and sneak into an office marked "DICE HQ"*
On Topic: Any DEVs know if this is possible or not?
