I agree with most things that are said here. I don't want to tell people how to exactly play this game but here are some things I don't like to see in PR: using grenadelauncher from 2 meters distance, shooting anti-tank rockets at infantry, bunnyhopping when you are under fire and stuff like that.

And I have a question, is there any bullet drop in this version of PRMM? Because I didn't notice any bullet drop yet.

Hi I'm new to the forums but have been playing PR for about 3 weeks. May i add that you guy are doing a great job with the mod and i can't wait for all the new googies you have instore for us.

When i first get into the game i always check what kit is lacking in the team or a kit that complements the squad that i am in. As soon as i spawn in the game i join a squad, again i make sure that i have a kit that will help the squad that i am in. So one i am in the game i switch my gun to single fire mode unless i am a support class. I feel that the single fire mode is the best way to shoot your enemy, confire the kill, and waist less ammo.

One of the main thigs that i have noticed while playing PR is that cover is
crucial. Also moveing from cover to cover, having you team lay a supressive fire so you can get from one point to another is usfull in PR.

Communication also plays a major role in the way a team is successful or not. Communication is the key to victory. When one squad is talking to another squad, forming a plan to overcome the opposition you know something good will come from that.

Well these are the points that i feel that are necessary to play this game. :-D

Do not dolphin dive

1. I cannot tell you how frustrated I am by the amount of dolping diving I see. There's nothing worse than getting a few shots off into a guy's torso, only to see him dive onto the ground (while firing) and kill you. Did I mention the firefight was fought at a distance of five feet?

If a medic is healing you dont face the medic look around and cover him. He doesnt have his gun out so you need to protect his ***. I hate when I medic someone and they turn around and stare at me...

Remember only aim at things you want to kill.

trogdor1289 wrote:As far as crouch- run goes crouch is toggled. Snipers are usually viewed as a asset as long as you don;t go on sniping when your squad needs an medic or another class. As to your squad needing another class use common sense and listen to your SL. If you want to get good join the pr toruemnt and ask some of the players on their to help you if you want i can get online later and help you out if you can find an empty server to join my msn is in my profile and my Xfire is trogdor1289
There is another thread asking about crouch toggle, and the one reply said that we can't toggle crouch? It seems to me that we can't...is there a trick to it? I would love it to be COD style...

Always dolphin dive.

1.I cannot tell you how effective this is when encountering the enemy close up. There's nothing better than diving into the ground (while firing) and mowing down the enemy. Did I mention that this works best when done at a distance of five feet?

It'd be nice if someone could lay out the ranking system for us new guys.

Or a link perhaps if this topic is covered elsewhere.

Thanks.

damn the ranking :) everybody does :) it's the least important thing in PRMM

and one advice of my own - remember that SquadLeader is the most important person in a squad. Cover him. Let him stay back in safety. Die for him if needed, or u will be spawning on nearest flag and doing everything all over.

Haha come on, I'm just kidding around :p .

Anyone who's played in a squad with me knows I'm a very dedicated team player, and *hopefully* an asset to the squad as a medic.

Granted, I haven't played much lately because of exams, and the fact that when you get a decent amount of players on GloryHoundz, it switches to a damned 32-player sized map, which as many of you know means ARMOR-ARMOR-ARMOR.

PRMM shines when it comes to infantry, small maps and squad-level action and movement.

Maybe when .3 comes out, there will be a surge of players, and I'll be back to help sort out the 'nillas. Maybe then too, there will be better suited maps, and the servers will have smartened up and play the small sizes for most stock maps, regardless of the amount of players.

When it comes to PRMM, since (in a good game), everyone clusters together in squads, the maps all of a sudden seem much larger, and in most stock maps, the 16-player version is appropriate for up to 50 players.

And wouldn't it have been better with 35-40 people, without having to switch to 32-player size with three tanks and APCs per team?

Without a doubt unfortuantly thats the way it goes unless you play an infnatry only server. Also can we get back to advice for the new players.

Your right of course, it doesn't matter.

However, seeing as there IS a points system in existence I for one would like to look in now and again to see my kill/death ratios and whatnot. If this is possible of course. So my question still stands. ??
And you cant tell me that when that flag goes up on screen in game saying you have been promoted to whatever it is, that you feel nothing about it, not even a vaque hint of self acheivment. Because I do, however daft it is. :-D

Thanks for the advice too, I've been learning that. 8)

Playing the game advice.
1. remeber this is a realism mod this means you cannot rambo it you have to work as a team.
2. The weapon phyics are realistic this means you have to account for bullet drop and shoot very accuratley
3. If you are getting shot repealdty try using cover and crouching postions more.
4. Always, Always join a squad.
5. Also don;t forget people will help if you ask questions.
Any other expreinced players who want to add to this are welcome too.
The weapons aren't realistic. The m249 SAW is more accurate while standing up than being prone with the m24 sniper rifle. They need to adjust the m249 to not be accurate unless going prone and shooting 2-4 round bursts. I see people using the m249 in place of the sniper rifle and hit kill me repeatedly from over 100m while standing. Or they run while shooting and still kill me. The sniper rifles shouldn't have any problem killing some one from 30 feet away either.

Oh an obvious one:

Make sure your location is SAFE before you try to heal someone, or possibly give ammo. Or even revive. I used to try to do what most do in BF2, just run over, prone revive, run away(or throw a kit or whatever).

Most of the time you should not do that, but obviously there are circumstances that it's ok(ie - you have backup to save you, you're right next to the guy, or your squad leader is down).

I can almost time exactly when people will pop out of their hiding spots if unsurpressed. And most of the time its faster than you can whip out another weapon and switch back.

Be ready to compensate for bullet drop, watch how much ammo you have, and play as a team not as a lonewolf. This is a realism mod, the tactics you see on RAMBO movies are show and tell Hollywood sterotypes of Special forces. Use your brain and stick to cover. That is all you really need to know.
