Death by Phone Call
I noticed when u detonate an IED by hitting the send button the call goes through almost instantly. IDK how exactly a phone detonated IED works IRL but it takes at least 5 seconds for a cell phone call to go through. I know 5 seconds is alot of time with an ambush weapon but they should not explode instantly. Unless of course cell phone detonated IEDs work differently.

in r/l afaik there would be a slight delay yes, but it would only be the delay to get the first "ring" which only takes a little bit of time.
afaik we can not code any delay to an expulsion apart from the hgr method which is to have it "decay" but if we did it that way the IED would just blow up 2 secs or w/e after you placed it and not when you detonate it
so all in all, hard coded.

its not bad for road side they would usally use more reliable devices like garage door openers or a detenator hard wired to the device anyways

Sure its hardcoded? Couldnt the animation when pressing the left mouse button just be made longer?
Uh, anyway, not a bad idea, but since it seems hard to do and wouldnt change too much about gameplay, you could explain it to yourself by saying the IED explodes when the call is stopped. Or so. (Whoa, that'd be dangerous... but evil.)

lmao, no, i mean he calls it when taking out the cell phone and stops the call for blowing it up... Just don't ask me how he puts away the phone safely

a delay would be really annoying. interesting that people would want it... like emphisize on the reality that wouldn't enhance the enjoyment of gameplay.

it may be possible with the hand nade code, delay before throw or w/e but not sure if it will work but it dose not work on a deployed projectile cos I was recently dealing with that sort of thing.

It would decrease a bit of the insane accuracy of them. I think when Rhino said hardcoded he meant it. Sure you could add an animation to detonate could be made longer, but that would only effect the animation, the bomb will still trigger when thee animation started... I think... Though thats just clarifying what Rhino said, youd need him or someone else for a more definite reason
