[Map] Operation Sharp Relief [scrapped]

Post by X1 Spriggan »

Man was my old description weird. Best keep it short as it always can change.

No vehicles at the start. When flag A is capped, 2 LAVS ( Stryker)( repsawn 10 mins) and 1 truck( 10 respawn) spawn on the road just freed around the flag. When flag B capped 1 Bradley( no respawn) and 1 M1A1( no respawn) spawn at main. When flag C is capped 1 Black hawk spawn( re spawn 10 mins) .

US- 100 tickets( + 50 when flags capped)
Insurgent- 200( + 100 tickets at counter attack)

At counter attack 5 bikes spawn on each street that borders with the edges of the map for fast transport for insurgents. All flags become cappable and when a flag is capped, the US lose w/e asset was tied to that city.

A few screen shots to show the setting:

I don't even have a map setting or story, just wanted to make the map and throw in some new game play mechanics. Asymmetrical-ness all the way. Game play for the OPFOR shouldn't be boring either beacuse I am attempting to let them have terrain advantage. Much more fun defending than attacking. Pics are only 3 days of work into the map.

OPFOR will probably be insurgent, but also could be Russian militia.

3rd screen didn't show for me before.

Looks really odd cos the first 2 pics make your area look alot more like some where in eastern eu but then your 3rd pic looks like your then trying to go for something ME with thous ME buildings etc...

You need a setting, full stop, otherwise it becomes a closter f*ck of objects that dont work together.

Rhino is right, you have Middle East and Asia Statics mixed and make the map look bad. There are also way to many logs in such a small area in the second picture.

1. Short sweet gameplay( 1 hour and 30 min matches)
2. Longer firefights where every death and kill matters.
Longer firefights, in my opinion for some people the tickets dont make muich difference, and instead there hurrying around everywhere trying to be 'l337' and cap like 4 flags at once.

I know the lightings not great or anything at the moment, but I really like the late evening kinda effect that it's got at the moment, no maps really have that in PR other then barracuda, and that more of an epic amber sunset kinda thing.

Get some idea's together though for what you wanna do exactly with it. Looks like more of an infantry map fro what you have at the moment.

If i understand correctly you crash to desktop? The place to ask is in the support forums, but here is the link anyway.

The map looks really cool, any chance of an aerial shot? I like the sunset skyline, and the map looks like it will give a mix of urban and countryside fighting.

Epic map. Looking forward to more updates. Lovin the idea of the value of the flags. Capturing them for a strategic purpose (cap the area near the roads to allow friendly vehicles to allow friendly vehicles to enter the map unhidered) rather than placing flags on maps just for the hell of it.
