Automatic Rifleman... is this a bug?

This is probably not a bug, I am not sure... but it sure seems odd. Please move this if required.......

Situation:

You have just deployed a Minimi/PKM/H&K-21E and are prone and zoomed in.
You stand up to run away because you're getting shot at but you stay zoomed in? You have to go back to prone to Unzoom yourself... and then try and run away. That seems odd to me. Surely in "reality" if you stood up, you would just undeploy/zoom out by the very action of standing up? If it is designed to be like that - that's a very unfair penalty for being an automatic rifleman, because there is no scope on them and... well..

Any thoughts?

Not possible to force unzoom because of player movements. Though other things like reloading and changing weapons will obviously.

Sorry, I have just realised how that sounded... what I mean is, why can't you just un-zoom when you are standing up?

When standing up from a delpoyed position, you should instinctively hit '3' anyway.

What Chuck is probably getting at is that in deployed mode, they've removed the ability to 'sight-in' your weapon whilst standing. This probably means that the ability to unsight also had to go as it's probably within the same code. Just hit '3', then '4' straight away if you wish to stay in deployed mode.
