Yes, lets not relive those vBF2 days. I still have nightmares all about jeeps falling on me and my squad, they just keep falling and falling and falling and falling with nowhere to run :cry: .

NEVER AGAIN IN PROJECT REALITY!

like he said, 2 ammo crates does the same thing, and forces the pilot to find a good spot and the troops to work together for it. Just make sure that it explains in the manuel how to dismount the aircraft inside the chopper so people can leave via the back door. in fact, force all passangers to embark and disembark from the rear loading platform. Which means, have the helo spawn with the loading ramp down so tha pilot can get inside.

What about the 4 wheeled ATV or the motorcycle? Those are rather small and easily fit in the back of a chinook.

an atv would be good, but what use could it provide, it is used to carry things in modernday, not for a 1337 speeda which is what it is used as, i like the ATV idea but think it would need a speed reduction and an ammo drop (i actually think it needs this anyway)

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Agreed, the ATV of today is more like the old vietname era MULE than some offroading beast to get to the enemy faster only to be shot. It is **** as a scout vehicle because of the noise.

I think the newer problem of said potential squaddie victims pounding said heli with small arms fire till it falls out the sky will counter that :p

Two kinds of Chinooks?
One for supply and transport, 8 seats, rear gun, 2 crates
the other with only 2 seats, no rear gun and can drop a pair of landies. Maybe use the whole aircraft thing of making the weapon disappear from the vehicle after its been launched.

Yeah I was gonna mention that earlier, but I figured the DEVs probably would of thought of it anyway. If they find a way of dropping a vehicles in a way they're happy with then I reckon it'll happen.

Hey, that source material also says that the Chinook can be armed with 2 miniguns in the side windows. Will the PR version be so equipped? It would be nice to have a British transport that isn't just a flying bullseye like the Merlin. (Which is not to say that I dislike the Merlin, its sexy.)

I hope so too, also id it was possible to put a GPMG on the ramp in all like irl would be nice aswell.

But this definetly needs miniguns, i can vouch for it being on chinooks aswell.

why dont make the chinnok a the rebirth of the old apc spawning? i mean, the chinook is a big flying bullseye anyway, and small arms fire can damage it, and its bigger as a apc.

the pilot Lmouse will change the modes, and the Rmouse will drop a supply crate for vehicles. (infantry cant rearm there)
undeployed mode: its a choppah whit 8 seats and a vehicle crate. how surprising..

deployed mode: you cant start, the engines are killed, but people can spawn around the chinook.(IE, land or die.) simulating a constant flow of men via chinook transports. but, it takes a slot of forward outposts. when changing modes again you dont get the slot back.
either, 4 FOBs + 1 transport chinnok
or 3 FOBs, and 1 mode switching chinook.

the chinook respawns like 30 minutes, is limited to 1. and have less health and cant be rebuild unlike FO/bs,
This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.

The Chinook ingame will not carry any vehicles since ye it can in r/l but in r/l it needs to be under slung and it would not be dropped off in a combat zone and used in a few secs after landing like it would be in game if we did this. If this was a Sci-Fi game, trust me one of the biggest things I would want is a transport that could carry an assault vehicle with it, IMO its something that is going to happen in the near future as I can see it as a very effective tactic. But that is beside the point as we are talking about todays combat.
IRL the Chinook can even carry a HUMVEE inside, with the crew still in it. So when the Chinook lands, they just drive the car out and they can use it straight away.
Also when slingloading it should be a matter of seconds before the vehicle is driveable.
