Yeah, I'd love to see some house to house fighting you see in the videos from Fallujah. I can see it now: a Warrior IFV taking hits from RPG-7s while British infantry move up the street, US Marines breaching walls w/ AT-4s, MEC soldiers doing whatever they do, room clearing, etcsix7 wrote:need ... umm buildings (w/ interiors)

The only real open building in BF2 at the moment is the building site, and that can get a bit tedious when it's on every single map. On urban maps there's not really a lot going for snipers or sharpshooters other than rooftops, so bombed out houses would make for some new tactics, just like that scene on Saving Private Ryan in the French village where Vin Diesel gets shot. If you get shot from a distance and you can't immediately see someone, the first place people look is for the rooftops. New statics would mean people would fear the open streets for any hidden insurgents peaking through a window or hiding in the rubble, rather than the four soldiers proned on the roof with dragunovs.

We dont want to deny infantry the advantage here.Malik wrote:The only real open building in BF2 at the moment is the building site, and that can get a bit tedious when it's on every single map. It'd be nice to see a new infantry only map developed for PR with some bombed out statics. The MEC get several control points around a bombed out civillian village while the US/UK attack with a few vehicles at their disposal. The MEC have countless hiding places in the buildings to ambush the US/UK, but the US/UK have armour and maybe even a chopper at their disposal. Urban warfare on Karkand is good, but it'd be even more fun and tactical if the scenery was really on the side of the infantry. Spotters would be a must and you'd really have to think before going out into the streets. Hidden ATs bringng death from above, snipers covering every corner and then the brave coalition forces storming through the streets and buildings taking no prisoners. I'm excited just thinking about it.

Maybe the infantry could advance BEHIND their armour support.... just maybe. I don't think I have seen this happen in PR but a few times, and when I tried it, it proved effective cover while i was able to keep tabs on enemy infantry and AT for the tankPence wrote:We dont want to deny infantry the advantage here.

I don't understand, having bombed out structures would add to infantry combat not take away. As it is, your only going to find players on rooftops and streets. It really doesn't feel like complete urban combat. Some great examples come from BF1942, maps like stalingrad had lots of bombed out buildings. I'm honestly looking for some house to house combat myself. Hell, you can make these buildings with open interiors actual control points.Pence wrote:We dont want to deny infantry the advantage here.
