Alex, it doesn't really seem to happen as much, and it sucks when it does happen, but I think the AA missiles are at a good balance against helis and messing with them would only mess with that.

Take the death and get another helicopter.
Everyone wants to easily kill their opponent but nobody wants to be the one easily killed. That line of thinking escalates weaponry to the point where practically every soldier has a shoulder-mounted nuke launcher that when fired, automatically displays the text "pwnt".- [R-CON]Wolfe

I like it, as many have said it adds realism, and also shows that even if you keep trying to fire AA missiles on maps like Quinling and Kashan, it can be hazardous to your own team.

Kind of reminds me of the end of The Hunt for Red October, after the USS Dallas pulled in front of Red October to have the torpedo lock onto her, and then did the emergency rush to the surface and then the torpedo was still looking for a target and found it in the sub that first shot the torpedo.

Yea but when its the attack huey that doesn't respawn, can't really get another =/

That just tells me you haven't read all of the thread, especially where we discuss how realistic it really is..

Why does firing a missile randomly, without a lock, not cause it to lock on to the nearest heat source it might come upon in it's travel?

I feel that the devs should slow the rate that they can turn and that would be fine- I have seen the AA pull 90 degree turns in less then 1 second on about a 10ft arc that kind of G force would rip that missile to peaces.
