Is there any way to keep the doors open when you have exited a vehicle? I think it would be nice, that way you could use the door for cover. Maybe include a dropable ramp on the bradley? Open hatches that you can manually close or open.

Is this doable?

I wnated this for ages, couple of problems i was told:
BF2 engine does not do multiple hit boxes well, eg. cant recognise arms and legs that well, let alone moving doors.
There is also the animation problem, if you wnat it done well you have to have troops clmabering in and out, and again the BF2 engine fails or finds it supper diffuctlt.

When ever i suggested it i was told that the BF2 engine can not do it BUT it is worth asking again!
(this will anoy peeps but i say pack up your bags and head off to ETQW's where there is one hell of an engine, with wheels and body parts on vehicles being knocked off and then repaired = seriously cool = realistic = screw BF2)

haha, well, thought I would at least ask. It's kind of frustrating that people just magically hop in and out of vehicles. Especially armor and ICV's.

i heard that hte DEVs were working on the thing for APCs, the dropable ramps =D

something like the BF1942 Higgins boats would be uber, do that with an APC :D

The entire BF2 engine would have to be redone to do something like this.

Ever jump on top of a tank?

The BF2 physics engine is one of the worst I have ever seen. It's almost like they were high or drunk when they designed it.

I remember when I used to play Battlefield 2 and I'd hop out of my DPV when it was on a hill, and it would roll down the hill and hit me while moving at a speed of around 1 or 2 mph. Then I'd die.

HOW COME IN THE PR VIDEO YOU SEE THEM CLAMBER OUT THE BALCK HAWK AND OFF THE BACK OF THE JEEP????????????????????????

They were just standing inside the jeep, not sure about the Blackhawk.

Does anyone know where I can get a version of the trailer that can be watched in Windows Media? The one right now just dosn't show up for me.

i cant find it either! strange. that is one of the single reason it got this mod - walking out of vehicles i thought and clever players, sadly niether has been fully realised (i was nieve and many of yu are excellent players albeit mabey .....)
P.S what is up with that asian lady boy, sorry i find it seriously random and a bit wierd - any particular reason?????

it did and still freaks me out. I am sorry but it sadly give some people the impression that you are.............i will not say it but it is not a good one.

If they could somehow implent working doors can you imagine using the humvees or apc;s ramp as cover on a map like karkand i would also like to be able to shoot out the humvees windows not going to happen i know but.

Perhaps they could implement door jams as well, so the engie class has to use WD-40 to get it to open again. Until then everyone has to get out the otherside.

no need to be a smartass, just wondering if doors could be implemented so we could get more cover when we get out of a vehicle.

lol I wasn't trying to be a smart-arse. Was just joking around.
Seriously it is a good idea, I'd imagine getting it to animate soldiers getting in and out of vehicles would be incredibly hard work.
Also I tend to use cars for cover sometimes (though the vodnik isn't exactly ideal due to it's size), when I do I'm normally behind it or just to the side so I can shoot around or through the vehicle. My point is if your using a car for cover you'd use the whole car not just the door, it would be very situational, 'course who know down the line it may be ideal if PR undegroes some large changes to combat.

We must just accept that this is an area that will not be done as to we would like it BUT that means we must make sure every other area or part of this game is perfect!!!!!! good day to you all
