Bombers and Strategic Objects
A cool addition to PR would be Bombers and Strategic Objects.
Strategic Object would be Amphibious Assault Ships (like the Wasp) Landing Ships (like the LCAC) and buildings that act as Command Points. They would be destroyable, but can take alot of damage.
Bombers would have a high respawn time and be hard to land. The US Bomber would be a F-117, MEC bomber would be Tu-22M3 and PRC Bomber would be H-6 (Tu-16 clone). Bombers would mainly be for destroying Strategic Objects or large groups of armor/infantry.

IMAGINE sicking the carrier!!!!!!!!! lol it would be so funny watching hte aircraft slide of the deck (imposible in BF2 but..).
I love that idea of having proper command posts. I hate flags personally and they shoudl be replace with proper objectives.
This whole area needs a thougher look at.
I once had the brilliant idea of taking away some of the support abilities or limiting them BUT making "flags or objectives" be support outposts, providing ammo and health ALSO having proper support and utility vehicles.
At present their is little reason to take a flag compared to reall life where you might actually be fighting for something like highground, oil reserve ext.

I have had some thoughts about this. Taking away the flag system that is. The problem is to keep the game moving you need some thing for one team to attack and one to defend or else everyone will stay in one place and the only things that will move are helicopters, planes and armor which is more realistic i know not much fun to do though. Although it would make people use the APC as safer transport to get into the combat zones same with helicopters.

I think it should be able to be damaged enough to stop planes from takeing off (collapsed deck). And things like fallen bar's make it hard for helicopters to take off.'[R-PUB wrote:Fullforce']I don't think Carriers should be destroyable, but more objects should be available for bombing. I mean, things that don't have much (or any) impact on the game, but if destroyed, perhaps mean a ticket loss for that side?

Thats actually a really good idea...I like it. I think you could maybe put in an automated system to do this in BF2. So, when a plane is gone, instead of just a new one spawning where the old one was the elevator will go down, airplane will spawn on the lower deck (doubtful you could make it taxi onto the elevator) and then raise back up. Then, as you said, bombing could disable elevators and stop the respawn of planes.Lazzars wrote:if the deck lift on the carrier worked then you could bomb it and disable getting more planes that would be sweet
Now, if only we could put craters in runways.

But this also means making a new carrier? which is, incredibal hard to do.... espicaly skin (imagines AF skinning it for a month, then he dose somthing wrong at the end of it and looses all his work.... again)'[R-DEV wrote:KingofCamelot']Thats actually a really good idea...I like it. EDIT: also a enemy pilot in real life would need to have some real big balls or a death wish to want to fly over, and bomb a enemy carrier in real life... With thous AA cannons on it he would be shiot up before he could blink a eye

Changing the spawn point of the aircraft to the inside would make more sense. Then of course players will need to taxi their own bombers onto the elevator. The vertical takeoff jets can takeoff directly from the elevator, but of course having it disabled would mean bombers wouldn't be able to be used for the US, a major advantage for the oppoonents. And modelling the new AC wouldn't be so hard, just use the one from Iron Gator as a guide.

well BF:SF has a working elevator and interiors on the WASP, so It is possible'[R-DEV wrote:KingofCamelot']Thats actually a really good idea...I like it. as for craters..well, you could model a part of the runway in 3ds, skin it to match the rest of the runway and make it a destructible object, than once its destroyed under it would be a huge crator modeled in the BFeditor
