Method for A101) Use a Joystick with a throttle
2) Put a marker on the end of the runway you intend to land on
3)When thinking about landing, fly at roughly 70% throttle. This keeps your speed closer to what we'll be using for our approach, but not so slow we'll have problems flying.
3) When ready to land, give yourself at least 1500m of space and cut throttle to 40%. Orientate yourself with the runway and fly towards the marker at an altitude of 200ft. Make sure you stay at roughly 200ft until you see the runway (in the j10 you will have to pull back on the stick a little to maintain alt)
4) When you see the runway, dive towards it. When you are approx 100m away, cut the throttle.
5) About 10ft above the runway, flare by pulling back on the stick. Hopefully the nose will come up but the plane will keep dropping. This is perfect. This kills a lot of speed and puts you in the correct landing position, which for max style points should see your rear wheels touch down just before the nosewheel.
6) On the Runway, when your speed drops below roughly 450 knots, pull back on the stick to activate the brakes.
7)Once stopped, pop the canopy and light up the victory cigar.
Easy. Even in the J10
*The A10 is very easy to land so there are a million ways to do it. This way should get you the nice flare on touchdown rather than the more common method of belly flopping the last 10 feet!*Same as above except a few differences that will be outlined here:
Approach at 55% power at around 130-150alt. Make sure you maintain altitude
When the marker you laid at the end of the runway is reading 500m drop the nose to point at the marker so you are flying down towards the close end of the runway.
At 300m from the marker cut the throttle and begin to softly flare at 200m.
If all goes to plan you should gently float over the runway and touch down rear wheels first.
