When I say "looking the same way" Im talking about direction of travel, if you're all moving as a unit towards a common goal then 2o'clock should be just as effective as the compass

I am a masochist though who likes to play with renderer.drawhud 0 sometimes though :P

its ok, thread is only been dead a month

just wanted to add that the clock system as stated by Cain or just removal of the the degree numbers for infantry (but still avaliable in vehicles) would be great.

I agree that if there is the clock system included then this would work fine.

But removing the compass completely from infantry might make newer player's a bit unhappy. When I first started Project Reality, I understood that engaging targets would be much harder than in vBF2 with the lack of enemy blips on the map/mini map. However the compass did in fact help by allowing me the few seconds to tell a squad mate where enemy fire was coming from.

Also, since there are no hand gestures animations from players in-game (at least none I've seen) you can't just point in the direction you want someone to face or shoot without telling them a general compass direction. With time and experience comes the ability to quickly fire off directions without a compass. But for now I think we should keep it, for the new player's sake.

its just odd as infantry, "enemy infantry bearing 125"

better to say, right, left, 4 o'clock, or North or whatever than such precise numerical numbers

edit - Wtf, I said "numerical numbers" wtf does that mean :S

As opposed to the non-numerical kind ;-)

I would call you a cheater that should be banned to eternity.
This is like saying "I like to play without shader effects to get more killzor", how low.

Why would I be joking if someone claims here that he's using a well known problem with render engine to his advantage?
