Better smoke[I think, but its hard to tell with such short clips and I forget which version introduced it...]

So even though you could find things wrong with it, it really does do a pretty good job of introducing some pretty decent additions to PR. And also keep in mind its a little old, so its obviously not up to date, but..yeah, it really did a good job imo.

You also have to take into account that you cant easily show things like "deviation" or realistic hit points in a video. Sure you see an insurgents get dropped in one hit but that doesnt say anything about how common that is or isn't. What I mean is that even though there are plenty of things it didnt show, most of those things are strictly gameplay related and are therefore really difficult to show in a video unless its a straight up tutorial. For example, Insurgency gamemode, weapon deviation, realistic hit values[or at least close], AASvX and the like...


Not to mention it helped bring a TON of new players to PR. And even though a good amount of that was due to the choice of music/flow of it video wise and not uber realistic gameplay/teamwork, it still stands that is did do that much. .5 release was one of the strongest and most memorable, and I think the trailer payed quite a big role in that

It shows specops for about 20 seconds. The lighting looks cool imo and i cant say that it lags in any way what so ever... Its not just about the music its how the music is used in the vid. Not sure how to explain but the video "fits" the music.

Btw, how is blowing up an AAA (ie doing something useful) "acting l33t"....?

In my opinion the video is just really poor and only the music is good, which (again imo) is what made the video so popular. At least for the majority of the people who liked it (and the majority won't confirm that, because they get a certain feeling with the video, which makes them say the overall thing is great and because of that, don't believe it's caused by the music, not the video, IMO).

Blowing up AAA isn't l33t (well, a bit ), though I find the spec ops are shown a lot in the video, especially compared to regular forces and other things of PR's goodness.

It's all opinions and I don't think neither of us will change their minds on what we think of the 0.5 trailer. You think it's good, I think it's so not (in fact, I'd vote for the 0.25 trailer ).

And again, this is about a guy who's trying to get his friend into PR, not about trailers or what we think of them, so I'll stop commenting on that part .

Too bad I'm just starting to work on my next video. I too found there was a lack of videos that featured the features of PR. They mostly just show cool action. So i've decided to do a video of all the kits/roles/vehicles/maps/gamemodes/etc not going in depth for each thing, but just a short summary of all that is the greatness of PR. Won't be done for a long time tho, it's more work then i orignally expected.

to the op, all i gotta say is good luck. i think PR is a VERY acquired taste. dont be surprised if your friend doesnt like it. i have a buddy, he loves shooters, he loves military stuff, i tried to get him into PR but he just doesnt have the patience for it. i guess i should have known better considering his favorite shooters are counter strike, BF bad company, and lots of other **** console games. he got on a PR server for the first time, and he died pretty quick, and the spawn time just made him turn it off and never try it again. now he thinks its the dumbest game around and he cannot figure out why i love it so much, all that based on that one time he played it. so really, if he likes it great we need all the players we can get, but it takes a certain type of person to emjoy this mod.
