Scenario for upcomming PR

Post by Black Ghost89 »

i just thought about a scenario for the upcomming PR versions (maybe already in 0.9?) with most of the fraction from the community modding involved.

think you all know the BF scenario, USA and UK fighting against the MEC and China and so on...

now the new part:
as the USA and UK forces are involved in heavy fightings with the MEC and China the Russians see their chance to expand their country and gain more power. after they invaded the nations next to them with only small resistance they are marching towards europe.
meanwhile the australians (is this force in progress? heard something like that) and canadians prepare to help their american and british friends in their war in the middle east.

the huge russian army arrives at the east border of poland and starts attacking the polish forces. since their are clearly outmanned the polish army falls back to their capital city warszawa (don't know how its called in english sorry :P ) trying to defend their country. as they ask for help the german and dutch forces prepare to fight back the russian intruders. their draw a line trough poland and split it into parts where the forces will defend the country. the dutch forces in the north, polish army in the middle and the german forces in the south.
also the norwegians help, as they lose some pressure which lasts on the euro forces as they start to attack the russians at the finnish border in the north and conquer the whole area till st. petersburg.

fearing the power of the russians and their big attack on europe the canadians decide to land at the east coast of russia and force them to fight at two front lines. while the australian army lands in south east asia to attack the chinese to help the americans and brits.

in afghanistan the taliban start to fight in open combats again against all the foreign forces in their country, the brits, french, amercians, dutch, australian, german,........ (just to have more map opportunities with the new forces :wink :)

sorry for my bad grammar  i'm too lazy to search my mistakes^^

so what do you think about it? any giod ideas to fill some gaps or make the story better? feel free to write what you like.

If you're making a certain map with these factions in, fair enough but PR does not need a story line. If there was a story, people'd be more restriced in their map making. Maps have to make some sort of sence admittedly but don't need to be tied down by such a specific story.

yeah thats true, i just thought if these nations would be involved in PR there should be a little sence in it, so it won't seem as they just fight against each other just for fun. like BF has a story line, no one cares about it in battle but it make sence why those fraction face eatch other, that was my thought, too.
i didn't want to tie them down to certain maps, however make new ones more possible, but i haven't thought about youre point of view.
thanks

I think it would be good if there were a three way alliance between Russia, China, and the MEC. The MEC, formed around a newly nuclear Iran, began coercing its neighbors, such as Kuwait and the UAE to cease their sale of oil to Western nations. Whereas OPEC simply wanted to control the oil markets, the MEC, backed by its economic arrangement with China, would much rather starve the West entirely. In late 2009, the MEC finally succeeds in forcing the last major oil producer in the region, Saudi Arabia, to surrender its oil supplies. In response to the MEC attempts to destabilize the world economy, NATO declares war on the MEC. Not long after the first US strike, China (who has recently established a close alliance with the MEC) declares war on the NATO allies. Russia, meanwhile, continues to wait. As America is forced to transfer many of its troops to China, the European members of NATO take a lead role in the battle against the MEC, with only a few US forces remaining. With most of Europe's defenses tied up in the Middle East, Russia launches an invasion of the former Soviet republics of eastern Europe and promptly annexes all of them.

The ultimate goal of the MEC-Russia-China alliance
MEC: Establish economic dominance through a monopoly on global oil markets, cripple Western nations using this monopoly
China: Ensure a steady supply of oil to China by protecting the MEC
Russia: Exploit the conflict as a chance to reconquer territory lost in the fall of the Soviet Union and dominate Eastern Europe.

Persian (Iran and a couple of others) and Arab (Iraq, Saudi Arabia etc) countries don't get on very well with each other as far as I know (I've been meaning to read up on the history a bit but haven't got round to it, the Iran Iraq war's a recent example though). Also Russia doesn't have a very cosey relationship with most, if not all, Middle Eastern countries and the wider Islamic world due to the invasion of Afghanistan back in the Soviet-era. Not sure about China's relationship with the middle east, but I know that even during Soviet times Russia and China weren't the best of friend to my knowledge.

Anyway, international relations aside, the PR team has stated a few times before that they don't really want to set an overall storyline, and want to keep the background of conflicts simply to the explanation of individual maps.

2009s a bit much conquest to get done by this time next year as well isn't it?

BF2 has a storyline? I though it was a simple case of Middle East = bad, China = bad :p

yeah well some sort of story line, with the formed MEC and their plans to get all the oil and so on... :) not a great story line but it brings a little more sence in it :p

A storyline was made for PR back in like 0.5 by a few team members, unknown what happened to the story though.

Feel free to write stories/timelines in the PR-verse but the team wont have an official story. It only will limit what we can do. Also if you noticed map stories have been removed as well.

But when it does come the a Scenario mode a small story about that map is totally cool!

But again feel free to write up stories. Creativity never bad. :-P

I say a series of linked maps would be awesome. I imagine playing them in order from the beginning of the war to the end. Now that would be cool. And there would have to be nukes involved somewhere.

PS. I think you left out the militia.

As we all know the backstory for PR is that NATO and its allies are fighting a last, desperate war to prevent the MEC-Chinese alliance from blowing up the Moon.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

No moon = No monday = No Monday Night Football.

Then what would America do? Dear God it would be horrible.

Serious though, I did notice the map stories were removed. I miss them thought it added a little more flavor.
