increase mounted MG cone of fire

Post by Conman51 »

right now the mounted MGs on maps are TOO accurate...this is BAD....1 for realism..and one for gameplay...ill give a a example y...i was playing seven gates w/ another clan mate who was leading his squad...we got trapped ona litlte tree island and had to fall back....i made a stupid mistake and ordered both our squads to run back to teh tree line at the same time (very stupid idea)...so we did...and there was a guy sitting on teh MG at the chinease temple...he saw us...12 guys out in teh open exposed for like 20 seconds and he only get 3 of us y???..i got the battle recorder file and i saw taht the bullets were like a lazor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...the bullets went perfectly between my guys who were liike 3 inches from eachother...the point is if there was a slightly larger cone of fire he would of killed more of us..which should of happend.plus MGs are a open bolt weapon so their not as accurate as they are now

devs cant make everyone happy all the time. for every guy saying the cone is too large 3 more will pop up saying it's too small.

so there were 12 people exposed and he got 3? Seems about right to me*. Those machine guns are supposed to be feared, otherwise you could just put a rifleman there.

Thinking about it, I agree, thats too few actually. Unless you had a bit cover or he noticed you too late.

To be fair to the guy he does say in his last sentence that he thinks a large cone would have killed more of his squad, not less.

I agree. I should have killed all of them. (jk wasn't me) Seriously at least someone is suggesting something that should be like RL. W/e next release will probably be better, or worse. Let's just wait and see what the Dev's have done.

Oh, sorry for misunderstanding the post. Well, maybe you have a point. Though I think the accuracy is okay like it is.

I agree that mounted LMGs need some spread, because atm they're so accurate, that you actually can't hit people with it unless they sit still.

No, you need to use the weapon in a realistic fashion. Mounted LMGs are some of the most potent weapons in the game if you use their accuracy by using scything arcs that just cut soldiers and squads in half.

There is nothing wrong at all with mounted LMG accuracy, the guy who managed to **** that up was a terrible player.

the mounted MG's should be like it is portrayed in the latest rambo. actually, all soldiers should be like rambo...

I think the "cone" or deviation is fine as is on mounted MGs.
Where I find fault is the fields of fire on most.
I think the fields of fire should be widened to allow wider coverage of an area.
Most mounted MGs are facing in most directions where the least likely avenue of attack is.
Rendering the gun useless and mere eye-candy.

Are you talking about the player set Heavy Machine Guns, or the Mapper placed Light Machine Guns?

The heavy mg should be that accurate. because they are mounted on a heavy object and they are very heavy. So that should stabilize the weapon.

I think this MG too accurate talk is caused by arcade shooter standards that mgs are the guns that shoot many bullets but as a balancing they get a huigh inaccuracy. I mean Mgs shoot rifle bullets or heavier ones at a high rate.

the map placed ones....but im not talking about a huge increase..only very slightly..so if you aim right in between a group of closely spaced people you can hit them.....its not like the bf2 SAW deviation...more accurate than taht
