music...no
but the rest I like, though the co pilot position woulc kinda suck, not much to do unless he's on the mounted guns
iirc Rhino or someone has said the miniguns will be replaced with m240s when a PR model is made

Don't give pilots SMG's or we'll end up with squads of pilots parachuting onto flags and trying to be Para's or SF.

It's awesome enough as it is, with people trying to parachute in using the pistol

yea why the hell would you downgrade the helos guns? first of all thats what they REALLY have. second, how many times have you been killed by one, its hard to hit stuff with them. i dont like how people always try to make pr fair. its not about equality, its about reality.Colonelcool125 wrote:Please never make a model. I love my miniguns.
As for the suggestions, I agree on faster climb, I dunno if its possible to make something to not explode after falling out of the sky, colored smoke I can take or leave, co-pilot gets a big NO from me because it would be too boring, music I don't really care.

iirc, i'm not sure, a quick wiki search didn't give info on this, but miniguns are not the standard armament, m240s are.
I would think the miniguns were given to the (apologies for inaccuracies) SOAR regiment in somalia, along with the 'black' blackhawks (nighthawks?) since they are considered an elite unit?

Re: Helicopter Friendly Suggestions
any helo can have many different guns. im not sure about the army, but in the marines we have a list of all the different **** we can use and usually opt for the bigger caliber guns. all of our transport helos have 50cals. the huey is the only one with a 7.62mm gun and its a GAU (minigun). you have to remember at that altitude and with rotor wash a 7.62mm round isnt nearly as effective. but on a huey its not as much and the rate of fire kinda compensates. an m240 is an option but i cant think of any helo that uses it as standard except for the mv-22 and that is because the only place they can have a gun as of yet is on the ramp, and a larger caliber gun would shake it to pieces due to its carbon fiber construction.Dr2B Rudd wrote:iirc, i'm not sure, a quick wiki search didn't give info on this, but miniguns are not the standard armament, m240s are.

I think you misunderstood Strima, he said the they Heli Pilot kit would have no Parachute. So if they did climb to 500+ in altitude they would just go spalt on the ground. It would be nice having a second kit for the heli pilot that would force him to lose the unrealistic parachute.[R-COM]strima wrote:Don't give pilots SMG's or we'll end up with squads of pilots parachuting onto flags and trying to be Para's or SF.

yea and if you guys are worried about fairness is there a way to limit the number of people on each side to be uneven? for example say a map for the usmc vs insurgents has hueys. could you make it be 25 usmc players vs 40 insurgent players? that would keep it realistic and solve the 'unfairness' problem at the same time.

I stopped reading at this. I think the transport helis are fine. It's just that to many people try and land in hot LZ's.eddie13 wrote:

Everyone wants to easily kill their opponent but nobody wants to be the one easily killed. That line of thinking escalates weaponry to the point where practically every soldier has a shoulder-mounted nuke launcher that when fired, automatically displays the text "pwnt".- [R-CON]Wolfe

However it could be a cool idea for future maps to have one team be a completely parachute regiment.
This means, the parachute team have a airfield maybe and a large aircraft as the only form of transport?
Or
Parachute team has no base but spawns at a high altitude. And maybe once a certain flag is taken, that becomes the new centre of command and you can no longer parachute from the high altitude spawn on the map.

Honestly I have no issues having 2 pilot kits, 1 with SMG no parachute, 1 with Pistol and a parachute. Trade offs

Why would you ever pick the kit without a parachute? Plan on landing and mowing the enemy down with your SMG?DeltaFart wrote:Honestly I have no issues having 2 pilot kits, 1 with SMG no parachute, 1 with Pistol and a parachute. Trade offs

Re: Helicopter Friendly Suggestions
As it stands, its pretty much impossible to ditch a chopper that is damaged beyond control and live, but every now and then you can manage to get it on the ground before it goes boom. Would be kind of cool to have the SMG in that case I guess.Solid Knight wrote:Why would you ever pick the kit without a parachute? Plan on landing and mowing the enemy down with your SMG?

Re: Helicopter Friendly Suggestions
How about for the poor helicopter pilot? Oor the squad being transported? Huh? Usually when I start having the buzzers come on I don't want to just jump out of my helicopter when I have a full cargo bay of people. Add to taht I'm usually too low to use my parachute as it is. So when I land the blackhawk that is burning in a clear area free from gun fire, if I have a carbine or an SMG(whichever would be most likely carried by someone not expecting to jump from a plane) I can at least help the squad defend the position from infantry while maybe an engineer fixes the helicopter or a FoB is set up.Solid Knight wrote:Why would you ever pick the kit without a parachute?
