I think it would be a nice addition since nobody plays commander now, and that makes the game less enjoyable and deep.

Im not talking about vanilla "radar-kind" uav, i mean a real one, a little "plane" with a camera on it. It should be manned by the commander and destructible.


Since the commander doesnt have the scan option from vanilla BF2, he should not know where to launch the uav, so he will rely on his squad leaders indications.

All this will improve the (IMO useless) commander in-map targetting system.

Sorry, has been suggested already, and the Dev's said no iirc. (though i liked the idea)

Maybe make it like in DCX where the MLRS had a UAV that spawned from it, you have the CO trailer launch a UAV every so often or have someone pilot the UAV

If it was going to be in the game at all it should defo be controled by the commander in his trailer and shouldn't be able to so heat sigs on the map.
The commander should fly it around and have to look visually for targets bellow and then talk to his squad leaders to advise them.
Launch pad on the command trailer maybe?

I think this should defo be included, UAV's are part of modern day combat theatres.

Im sure iv heard the DEV's say before that this mod is more about realism over fairness and equality in-between different factions.
I personally don't see that this would unbalance the teams that much anyway.
And besides, if the Insurgents etc can shoot it out the sky, why not have it!?

Maybe you could give the Insurgs a couple of SCUDS in exchange ;)
