I think that close range friendly IFF tags ought to stay - you can get pretty damn paranoid and itchy trigger fingers going through the alleyways and whatnot of Karkand and such maps

IMO, the minimap/compass HAS to stay, even if you make it so it dont display friendlies positions, (this one does NOT apply to me, but even so...) not everybody is dedicated enough to a game to memorize every last little bit of a map, or at the very least look at the full map every 30 seconds just to see where they're at - if you take that out, some of the less dedicated gamers may not see reason to play if they cant even remember how to get round town or which direction they are pointing in (field maps can get disorienting if you dont even know north from south)...

Right now the screen is cluttered up by "ammo here," "you're good to go," and worst of all, tags. Tags really take away from the experience that Project Reality is aiming for, IMO. But I do agree that a tag should appear within a certain distance when you point your crosshairs (well, the middle of the screen) at a teammate.

Oh, and get rid of the voice comms that aren't actually controlled by the players (ammo here, alright you're good to go, etc). They give away your position and are really annoying when you hear them over and over again.

let the nametag appear after a few seconds... thats enough.. you have to think about those guys that play with low graphics... since they don't have a high end computer or graphics-card. So they will TK a lot by accident... leave your squadmates tags in though... it really helps and encourages squad-forming.

After thinking about it, removing tags completely will cause problems but that would be the perfect solution. :)

squads should definatly keep tags, at least the SL. Other people's tags can go unless you are close enough and you point at them. You can always use the minimap to see the position of friendlies

right, but make it available to SLs only :) grunts need not to know where where they are - their leader should.

And another idea (maybe mentioned earlier, I don't know) - get rid of ticket display, so troops won't know how the battle is going. Only commander could see tickets for exapmle - but it would be hardcore if even him wouldn't. This would make regular soldiers fight all the time like they were losing, and in fear of losing - cause nobody knows if their team is winning or not, right? I think this little feature would make battles more intense, dramatic and emotional. And realistic. And everybody would wait to the end, to see who won - a real movielike cliffhanger :)

I want it slowed down and deadlier, almost like Ghost Recon.

Slowing the game down would require the players to keep
situational awareness at all times. If a player makes a bad
decision, there goes atleast three guys before the rest know
what is going on.

Also, slowing the game down makes players think
tactically. Coupled with a slight increase in damage, players
will learn to use cover wisely and learn to attempt to flank
the enemy.

The ultimate solution to side switching (at the end of the battle). Brilliant!

Unfortunatly, I think it would tick off a lot of newcomers not to be able to know the score. The commander should be an indication of the general number of tickets as well, so he can know which move is best for the team.

Good idea. Then maybe everyone would play like the tickets were 10 to 10 for the whole battle.

If you are loosing you automatically fight harder... (well.. me and my squad at least)
So i don't mind the ticket-indicator.

suggestion for the AT class:

Do it like we did in Forgotten Hope!

Give him a real weapon! Like an Assault Rifle.
take this stupid wire-controlled piece of junk away and give
him a normal AT-Weapon. Like LAW or RPG-7 with one or two shots.

Why? It's hard enough to hit with those. So if you manage to come close to a tank or APC you should get the reward (see the sucker blow up!).
If you miss... you better find an supporter (or auto-rifleman)
(Teamplay, nah?)
Almost no one plays AT now, since AT is only spawned at the Squad leader if needed.

My dream is a mixed squad where the teammates have their jobs (medic, engineer, AT) and fulfill them.

LOL, this isn't FH sir, this is Project Reality, you know, with Realism it's main basis?

Ticket display cannot go. It can serve as an incentive to up the anty on the losing side's tactics and fighting effort. Realism games have to really be careful not to cross the line, some have done that and went too far with it. You can't take away everything on the hud, unless you want a small but close fan base.

Probably been said before, but here some things I want for the USMC

- M82A1
- Mk19 on a few of the HMMWVs
- CH-53 as primary transport helicopter
- M240G

And in general, I'd like to see:

- laser guided munitions
- mortars
- new Vodnik model. Current one is atrocious.
- more environmental diversity (more environments) in the Chinese campaign ATM, only forests are really being used.

WOW, i would make an estimate that 70% of everything said has been repated 5 times over!!!!!!! And spamming must be very high!

To keep this simple:
- to have triple the number of buildigns you can go inside. at present there are about 3, having 6 more cant be that hard, and makes for more interesting and exciting gameplay, havign a whole sqaud stake it out in a 3 story block of flats would be so so very cool. Would be a intense (understatent) firefight!

- a new desgin of tree, a oak or something similar and fallen leaven and small bushes. With large root round the base and interesting truck. With this, amazing forest areas could be created, with leaf filled ditches = again, amzing firfights, with camofalge and useing cover playiong a vitgal role = REALISM
