New factions for PR v0.85

I see a lot of mods on the PR mods forum like: Russian forces, Israeli defence forces, dutch forces, canadian forces, german forces and so on. Is there any plans on implementing any of these into PR, like for the next patch release? I'd especially like to see the Israeli or German forces. Israeli because there's actually a couple of maps taking place in the middle east, especially Jabal Al Burj which is in Israel right? Would be perfect to have the Israeli forces there for example. And German forces just because they're close to Sweden. :P

afaik they will be integrated with the core release when/if the DEVs believe they have reached the point that they are of high enough quality and content.

I'm not sure who is currently nearest to completion

I'm guessing Canadians, since they've had Archer earmarked for them for ages

I heard the Russian forces, IDF, and Taliban will be new factions in the next release.

Also, don't worry about the maps, they are coming with their own.

Taliban VS CF on archer for sure! Sounds like RA and IDF will be added in 0.85 however I don't think Hamas is finished for IDF, Insurgents/Tallies as placeholder I guess.. Also MEC has a less bulky *conscript* clone that (guessing) will be added in te coming patch.

German Bundeswehr is too early, same for Norway and Netherlands. Poland seems (nothing sure) to be on flatline and French is being made on their own private forums (HeroS right?). Democratic Republic of Congo appears to be on hold because Brummy is on active duty and Argentinian forces (Falklands minimod) seems to be approaching flatline too.

If correct, in PR 0.85 we will have :

(USMC) USMarines Corp
(USA) USArmy
(GB) Great Britain's Forces
(PLA) People's Liberation Army (China)
(MEC) Middle-Eastern Coalition *Forces*
(MEC) Middle-Eastern Coalition *Conscripts/militia's*
(Mil) Balkan/Caucasian/Chechnyan Milita's/Arm Dealers
(Ins) Iraqi Insurgents
(Tal) Taliban armed groups
(RA) Russian Army/Forces
(CF) Canadian Forces
(IDF) Israeli Defence Forces

That makes up for 12 Factions in PR! WOW :shock:

Now add for PR 0.9 or 0.95 .:

Germany
Norway
Netherlands
France (maybe)
DRCongo
Poland (maybe not)
Argentina (again, maybe not)

We may end up with 19 factions in PR, THAT is pomising! PR is indeed unique for it's incredibly active community that, in combination with DEV and CON make PR such a wonderful, realistic and advanced game! :D

The Polish team operates on largely thier own forums, away from prying eyes.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

i want the germans, they get 1337 kit, (including typhoon :D ) yet i hope they get a munich accent, like the radio DJ on SFUR on GTA San Andreas, just for the lols :)

How will our Community Mod be released once finished?

Once your community mod leader think your mod is ready, or almost ready for release then it is his job to post on the R-CON forums that they are finished or almost finished. Once then, we (the developer team) will take a full look at your mod, give you any feedback on changes you may need to make, and also run it though our testing team if need be. We will probably give you some developing help at this point from our own DEVs to help finalize your mod for release. Then, we will either give you permission to release it, or we will release it for you (with full credit to you and your team of course), if it is a new faction we will most likely release it for you. You are not permitted to release your community mod without permission from us, if you do we will take action against you. It is not hard to get a "yes" from us, the only thing that will make us say "no" is if there is some major bugs that we think need to be cleaned up before release first, or it would take the mod in a direction we don't want it to, thou if we thought it would we would probably say that when you submit the design plan. It is also in your best interest that we release it since that means full front page news cover on our, and every other BF2 community site, ingame MOTD (Message of the Day) promotion and us hosting the files on our servers etc.

i think these forces would be interesting in .85 and beyond:

1. russians (interesting weapons and vehicles)
2. germans (we need a big, middle european faction. germany has a lot of high tech, contemporary equipment)
3. israelis (they're an obvious factor in the middle east + nice weapons)
and maybe
4. mujahideen (located both in chechnya forests and down south, they'd be a bit like mec but without air vehicles and more guerilla style tactics and work in many different terrains. might be the new name for the militia? just add beards!)

mujahideen might take the roles of militia and the mec but keep the more civilian insurgents of the cities.

Edit: User was warned for disrespecting the work of a whole faction community. Learn to be more diplomatic as at least they are putting their sweat into it.

Who cares if factions are similar? Rather than having three maps featuring USMC, we can have one with US Army, one with USMC and one with Canadians in their place. Makes things a bit more interesting.
