how can there be balance issues? according to hotrod, its just making invisible flares really. once you triger the flare (like you normally would) the disco ball goes in to affect for so long and it shuts off again.

purley cosmetic, but would still be cool to see. Adds variation to the game.

Realism cant really be greater than gameplay unfortunately. PR can do a fairly good job making infantry combat somewhat realistic, however as for jets, choppers, and other heavy assets.... *good luck*. BF2 simply lacks too many things to make these things very realistic no matter what you do. Regardless in many situations the US's technology dominates so utterly, that most attempts at making a realistic and balanced conventional arms encounter would be silly at best.

Well, rather than spawn as invisible and fall like snow... they will float around the aircraft giving it ALOT more chance to survive due the number of IRCM. And Between me and yall, even if they made the system effective as the real one, the 30MM chaingun will destroy any single helicopter in the sky, i dont even use missile against aircraft (F16,A10)... the Cannon is enought trust me.

Like HughJass said 2 times already, is purely a cosmetic/l33t feature. Its not realy complicated to make work, and its not like the real one jammin as long as the aircraft is runnin. I known we are dealing whit the BF2Engine and i known many things cannot been done, but this one is feasable.

well, the missil will still has a proximity fuse , so if the "flares" are near the helicopter , it will recive some damage too .

also , i wonder , if all the helis are equipied with that , how is that they still fall by SA7 fire in OIF?
