They're too scared to model one for the spec-ops kit. They're too sacred to use anything other than the AK-74 or AKS-74U. The Abakan's unique two shot burst firing mode can't be duplicated in PR as you can only set one rate of fire (RPM) per weapon. This has been suggested many times before. They're too scared to leave this thread open.

Here is a great source for the just of the AN-94. From the reading you will see that it is expensive, and only the best of the best have it. As such, PR tries to show the most likely used weapons. So on the the battle field you will not normally have the best of the best so it would be Highly unlikely that it would be in front line use. That and it takes months to retrain how to assemble/disassemble the weapon. On a further note, this has be suggested many times and as such it will be closed. Please read the ***(Already Suggested Suggestion) and use the search function.

Originally it was intended to replace most, if not all, AK-74 rifles in the Russian service, but it soon turned out that the complete replacement is impossible due to the economical (mostly) and some other reasons. At the present time the AN-94 is considered as the "professionals' choice", and is used in limited numbers by the elite forces of the Russian Army, police and Internal Affairs Ministry. The main body of the Russian armed forces are still armed with the Kalashnikov assault rifles, and AK-type rifles will remain in service for a long time, most probably.

Its very rare in RL, most russian SF units still use AK-74 or AKM variants. MVD Spetsnaz unit "RUS" in Dagestan, 2007. I See AK-74s, AKMs, PKMs, SVDs, an SV 98 and even an AS VAL. These guys are the best the MVD has to offer fighting on the front line of Russia's COIN war and not an AN-94 in sight. At Beslan and in Moscow they were not in evidence, depsite the presence of FSB units Vympel and Alfa. In all the photos I've seen from the Second Chechen War and the war in Georgia I havent seen an AN-94.

Additionally, it cannot be accuratley replicated in the BF2 engine as first, 2 round bursts are not possible (well, they are, but it would mean giving the M16 series a 2 round burst as well) and multiple fire rates for a single weapon cannot be achived.

In light of these limitations the AN-94 will not be seeing action in PR.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
