Zoom Function on 3rd "Engie" Tank seat ?

Post by General Dragosh »

Ok... didnt find this under suggested, if there is one thread then im serriously stuped...

Ok i know there was some discussion in the past but i want to be sure

Is it possible to add some kind of zoom to the 3rd "Engie" tank seat ?

When i play kashan i take engie kit 90% of the time(who needs scopes :D ) but it makes me really useless when in a tank squad when trying to help besides repairing, i wish there was some kind of "switch to binoculars" button or with F to switch to a integrated binoculars, i thought of this cause helicopter have alternate weapons button so i thought its possible to put in...

So if its possible can it be added to the patch before the release, it musnt be 100% finished but any zoom function would be apritiated :D

Agree, I've posted this before. The MG gunner just need a pair of binoculars so he can help spotting over voip and rose. I can't see those leetspecforcoperatorsz who always shoot me from behind and then I bleed out the next 5 minutes. In the middle of the desert with a useless .50 cal.

agreed, a non firing capable zoom simulating a binocular would be a great addition.

Some people mount scopes on their M2HB it is not exactly unrealistic to be able to zoom in and fire with the M2.

I like the idea. It should be non-firing, as entelin suggests

I would love having the guy on the .50 to be able to use his binocular but I think its already been suggested and hardcoded or something.

Best solution for now is to have the third guy (most likely engi) to get out to use his binocular when the tank is in a stationnary long-range firing position. When in close range such as in a city, the third guy shouldn't be using binocular but the .50 to protect the armor from infantry ambushes.

Maybe a solution would be to remove the .50 cal so the third guy can use his own equipment just like the second guy on anti-air armor but we gotta ask ourselves, do we prefer to have a .50 cal and is it more realistic or do we want to use our m-16, l-85, etc. ?

id imagine that its not very realisic to not have an AA gun on a tank, also for urban combat its a must. could you have a 4th slot which is in exactly the same place as the 50cal, only in this one the engie can use his normal weapons?

You shouldn't be using your own weapon, use the .50 and then press F say, and you switchy to Binos.

Maybe tank could be modeled to have a second hatch open for a fourth guy but it would require more manpower for armor. As we know, manpower is very limited.

Really? Because a lot of the time I hear the .50 being referred to as an AA gun.

Anyway you can have the engineer use binoculars on the tank. It'd just be another weapons slot or camera. You could alse put a scope on his gun.

I Dont think its a good idea to be able to use all your items because the engi will jst constantly repair the tank from the top and not get out... I dont know what you have been doing but when I have a 50 cal in my tank I usually put markers down for him to spray, its suprisingly accurate.

I think its a good idea. "Zoom" with right-click, look trough binocs with (default=)C.
It feels natural to bring your binocs up into the 50cal, no?
