I like the inclusion of the G3 I do think its realistic but I also reckon that the usage ought to be limited cos I dont think its right to potentially have an entire team running around with G3s.

However I also dont think that it should be as limited as kits like sniper and LMG it should be something like 6 or 7 available G3s to select, at the most 10.

Its still got to go pass the testers, if they find it to be a problem well relook at it. Plus its not too early to start the 0.9 fix list :-D

These are not complaints about the G3 itself, I'm fully pleased at its inclusion. I'm not implying that the insurgents will be overpowered with it as a spawnable kit, I'm not concearned about how it may work in game. I don't need to play 0.85 to figure out that an insurgent squad full of G3s'll look a tad unrealistic.

All some of us have mentioned is the possible AK-G3 ratio, nobody is arguing.

They are. One side saying:" No, G3 is realistic for INS!!!" Second side:"No, bulocks, this sucks, there will be a full ins squad running with G3's!"

Who said there will be full squad with G3's? Have you seen INS squads full with G3's in 0.85? ;)

From Modern Firearms - Heckler Koch G3 assault rifle
...until 1995 the G3 in various modifications served as a general issue shoulder weapon not only for German Armed forces, but also for many other countries. Those include Greece, Iran, Mexico, Norway, Pakistan, Portugal, Sweden, Turkey and many other countries. Total of more than 50 countries during the last 40 years issued the G3 to its forces. The G3 was or still is manufactured in countries like the Greece, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Portugal and others.
Obviously, the G3 is a popular weapon, perhaps not as widespread as the AK variants, but still very popular. Also, it seems quite likely that the MEC would provide aid to the insurgency, since they are both fighting the US and GB. So all this debate over the the propriety of the G3 is absurd.

Any link between MEC and Ins/Taliban is impossible to prove as PR does not have any storyline or timeline : MEC could have been created way after the occupation of Iraq.

There are many reasons why Insurgents in Iraq have access to G3's. They have been found in abundance by coalition forces in Iraq due to them either being left over from the Iran-Iraq war, or have more recently been supplied to Insurgents by neighbouring countries.

All of these pictures are of confiscated weapons in Iraq

As you can see, there is a way bigger proportion of AKs everytime, so what me and a few others are saying is simply limit them, for example by putting them as the Officer kit and/or a pickup kit. We are in no way saying remove the G3, just limit it, as it is clearly in less abundance in the Insurgency maps at the moment.

My 20c AUD.

Get over it. Its just abit of variation in weapon choice for a faction which before had very little, the weapon has been proven to be used by insurgent forces in current conflicts, the number of which is irrelevant of course there is more AK's IRL, there more AK's than just about anything out there, plus as chuc said your basing this of 0.8 weapons. Out. :)

NOOO! you're missing our points aswell! We like the G3 as it is, it is awesome, we love it! It will just look unrealistic to see ins squads FULL of G3s. In a squad of 6, you would see 1 G3 max to be realistic.

With the possibily that everyone in an ins cell could choose the G3, it would look unrealistic to see the lot of them with G3s.

We love the G3, it's an awesome addition but not everyone in an insurgent cell should have the chance of spawning with one for realisms sake.

I don't know how many other ways I can word this but I hope you understand what we're trying to say.

I forgot to add smiley to my last post...

Pick-uppable, limited G3s would still add variation. The number of them is relevant just as the numbers of the other kits are in this mod. All in the name of realism. Yes, there are more AKs than anything out there, this is what we're trying to get at. Realism FTW! We're basing this off the second image on the first page, not 0.8 weapons. The way that the G3 may work in 0.85 is irrelevant, I'm on about the typical load-out for a real insurgent cell.

I'm not on about the workings of the G3 at all, I don't care how much stopping power, recoil, ammo or whatever it has as long as G3s are limited below the number of possible AKs etc...
