Ridiculous locking maps for community!!!
Hi!
I have been playing PR for a long time now. It is BY FAR the best mod for BF2. And thanks for all great work on it so far!
Though I really dont like when Maps are being locked for public/community servers to be played ONE WEEKEND!!!
Seriously some people (like me) may not or do not have time to join the PR tournament. Why should you then lock away NEW MAPS to be played only on tournaments. I get the point that it should be something special about playing the official "league" but I see no reason for holding map releases for the rest of the community. That really annoys me!
In short! Please do not sit on nice maps and lock them up (eg. desert rats). It is the whole community/public that makes the PR mod. So just release such things/updates for everyone!
Thanks!

Desert rats is pretty much the same as Kashan.
Actually, its what Kashan should have been. Minus some assets.

Desert Rats isn't restricted to the Official Tournament.
Everybody can play it during the Public Weekend and the Community Matches.

And even if not, the tournament guys would have every right to make and play their own maps...

The community maps are NOT tournament maps. Also, these maps weren't really made to be played public. The Desert Rats map for example had some rules which you can't enforce during public gameplay. The British weren't allowed to exit the base for 10 minutes and only 2 recon could observate the bunker complex.

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Re: Ridiculous locking maps for community!!!
Well from the PR side we only support PR maps. This is part of our server license. With out getting into details if a server would like to use different settings they are normally required to password the server. When it comes to levels this a a different set of rules but can follow the same rules depending on what they are doing.
As far as the Desert Rats, they are not directly related to PR and they have there own rules and distributing.
