Re: [Gameplay] Insurgency
G3? insurgents will be able to pick off the western troops before they get even get into the city! The western powers fighting them will pretty much have to recieve some kind of Close air-support, probably attack helicopters

I'd love to see a sawed-off Mosin or Iranian PPsh for the Insurgents.

Re: [Gameplay] Insurgency
Since Insurgents now have a 3 minute warning when the Enemy gets enough intellegence to reveal a Cache, how about taking it one step farther. Allow the Insurgets to actually pick the location of their Cache, Allow the Commander of the Insurgent team to place the Caches. If he chooses not to place The Caches in a timely fashon then the Default Locations Spawn in.
It seems to me that Insurgency Maps are ruined after a week or so because players memorize the possible locations of all of the caches and just bounce across the map taking them down.

Its something that has been talked about, there are allot of problems we ran into brainstorming. Maybe in the future this will become a reality.llPANCHOll wrote:Allow the Insurgets to actually pick the location of their Cache

Re: [Gameplay] Insurgency
PR would work well as a unique kind of RTS/FPS hybrid if we had full modding access to the BF2 engine and BF2 players...
What I'm getting at is the ability for Insurgents to set caches in the current cache-oriented gamemode. Unless it can be done by the Commander before the round, which is pretty much impossible, I don't see it working at all.
Caches should take the place of hideouts as team-built spawn/resupply points, and the Insurgency gamemode should switch to something objective-oriented, like a variant of Scenario mode. (An example objective is killing the Insurgent Commander, much like the late VIP mode.)
Also, the gamemode really needs pickup kits with generic Insurgent gear and wildly varying rifles (iron-sight Coalition and MEC weapons with low ammo, Sheffield 9mm, Mosin, PPSh (assumed to be Iranian), Skorpions, even an iron-sight MEC sniper and more Lee-Enfields) that spawn at these deployable caches. Sure, some of these weapons don't exist in PR, but that's the kind of variety needed to improve the feel of Insurgency.

For the Mosin see the sixth picture in the first post. As for an Iranian PPSh, I wouldn't be surprised if any one of them posted in the same thread are Iranian built.

Hopefully it wont be exploitable, like putting them in almost impossible to reach spots.[R-DEV]CodeRedFox wrote:Its something that has been talked about, there are allot of problems we ran into brainstorming. Maybe in the future this will become a reality.

If Insurgents can reach it to deploy it there, so can you.ReaperMAC wrote:Hopefully it wont be exploitable, like putting them in almost impossible to reach spots.
And even if you couldn't, you still got armor to shell the spot, area attacks, grappling hook to climb, grenadiers...

Most impressive thing in that thread is the StG 44 on page 2. How do they get their hands on stuff like that? A total of maybe half a million were produced, many of them probably destroyed during WW2.moj wrote:Odd guns in Iraq & Afghanistan - Military Photos

Im not so sure about that, unless I understood you wrong... Both my brother and a friend have WWII rifles[Kar98 and Mosin Nagant M44] they fire on a regular basis and the only thing that tends to be unreliable about them is the ammunition because both my brother and his friend are cheap and spend too much on booze to take alongjbgeezer wrote:AFAIK most of WW2 weapons are pretty unrelaible now
Theyre both very solid guns and in incredible condition.

Re: [Gameplay] Insurgency
Yea your right about that. They have probably taken good care of their rifles. Bolt action rifles have much longer service lenght. I know a guy that has got a Krag joergensen from 1885, that still works! Now I mean submachineguns like the Mp40 and the stg44, all the mechanics make them less relaible, and it gets worse when u think of the insurgents who isnt used to clean their weapons as theu ussaly walk around with an ak47'[R-DEV wrote:OkitaMakoto;869694']Im not so sure about that, unless I understood you wrong... Don't ever call the StG a submachine gun!jbgeezer wrote:Now I mean submachineguns like the Mp40 and the stg44
Apparently the Soviets gave away captured German weapons to many militias and rebel groups around the world. Now I'm seriously thinking about going down to the ME to get my hands on one of these relics. They're history ffs!
