As to doing it on servers, that's to the discretion of the owners. For instance, our =DaM= servers have a swear filter on in-game chat. We do promote ourselves as a family-friendly clan, which is why we run it. All the same, you may find even a few of us letting out a swear on VOIP, but never directed at anyone.

I understand that in the heat of the battle, its easy to let one fly loose, and that's why we've been pretty forgiving of people auto-banned, but for the most part the only people banned because of it are smacktards who didn't bother to read the rules or simply ignored them.

I've played on several servers, and there's no difference in teamwork and cooperation between some of the best servers that allow cussing and ours.
I have to agree with McLuv
Just throw the words at your mic or screen or whatever. Why spend the time to actually type what you thought of and have shouted out loud already?
this too

on voip it happens i guess...
its really i think about the typing of it. to take the time to add extra letters in an sentence is moronic IMHO. if you are that mad about a sniper or vehicle you probably just got gorked again by wasting the 5 seconds to use those "big boy" words.

it really simple you violate the rules... you don't play there and you frequent another one

that is how player bases develop

as far as the =DAM= server goes, i have yet to see someone go off on a childish cursing rant. i been playing on it almost exclusively for 3 months now too

'= wrote:H[=Viper;864553']Cursing is to be expected ( ask anyone bout my rants ) I don't think that's the problem unless your playing on a server like =DAM=. It's when you direct it at someone in particular and use it as an insult that there's a problem. If it's harassing one of my players then I'll take notice and warn. Then kick if it doesn't stop. Doing it the auto admin way is a bit much me thinks.
That's right, and it isn't going to change either. We auto or manually ban for sexually explicative language. We don't get upset about the shits, damns and words that slip out in that fashion, but, and this goes back about three years ago, when we have a visitor ( Pub ) that comes onto our server and tells one of our wives over and over again to suck a particular part of his anatomy, I think it's time to make a stand, so, your right, on the =DaM= servers you will get banned for taking the time to type out a "sexually" explicit verbage.

We don't ban for cursing, we ban for sexual remarks. On voip, we figure it's your squad, run it the way you want, if we don't like what your saying then we leave the squad, but when you type it in game chat your forcing it on others. So you see I think we are pretty fair and balanced, in public, act like your in public, in private do as you please.
